Got the approval letter today. No updates online. It's been a long wait and finally got the letter of approval. Good luck to the rest of the May filers who are still waiting. I understand how frustrating it can be.

I don't know if it will help, I called service center around March 25 and insisted to talk to Tier2 officer. I was able to get information that my case was touched on March 22nd and was advised to wait 40 to 60 days. I personally think that calling doesn't really help but at least if you insisted to talk to tier2 and got lucky to be connected to a nice officer, then they may able to tell if your case was touched/reviewed or not. For me, that help minimized the frustration and agitation. I called early in the morning where they just probably started their day, and I haven't got difficulty connecting and talking to them.

Congrats JnB. Your experience with that Tier 2 agent shows they have all the information available about the cases. Whether they are nice enough to tell you about the current status vs trying to dismiss the call is another story. I'm glad yours was a helpful call.

Which number did you call? The regular 1-800-375-5283?

When I called last week I just got the same spiel I get from the online case status - nothing but 'we sent you a notice in may 2015 blah blah'.

They were insistent that they couldn't even access any more info on my case.

CR1 / DCF (London): 2012 / 2013 (4 months from I-130 petition to visa in hand)

I-751 #1- April 2015 [Denied]

 

April 2015 : I-751 Joint filing package sent fedex next day 09:00am from UK ($lots - thanks). 
Jan 2017: Notification that an interview has been scheduled at a local office. Bizarrely still no RFE... 
Jan 2017: 2hr wait, then interview terminated before it began, due to moving my ID to another state 2 wks prior. New interview 'in a few months...maybe.'   Informed them that divorce proceedings are underway, but not finalised at this time. 
March 2017: An Interview was scheduled - marked as no-show as they didn't actually send out a notification of interview. FML 
April  2017: Filed an official complaint with the ombudsman, and have requested Senator & Congressman assistance
August 2017: Interview - switched to a (finalised) divorce waiver. Told that decision will be made that afternoon, but no problems foreseen with my case. 
October 2017: Letter of Denial received - reason given as 'I-751 petition was not properly filed'. Discovered ex-spouse made false allegations to USCIS in 2015. No opportunity given to review & refute allegations  - contrary to USCIS policy.

I-751 #2 - Oct 2017 - Mar 2021[Denied] 

 

October 2017: Within 72hrs of receiving denial notice, a new waiver I-751, divorce decree & $680 cheque, sent to Vermont via FedEx overnight 9am priority.  
Dec 2019: Filed FOIA request for full A# file
Feb 2020: FOIA request completed - entire A# file received as a .PDF; 197 pages fully redacted, and 80 partially redacted. Don't waste your time!
March 2021: I-751 #2 denied for lack of evidence. No RFE, no interview, and evidence in previous I-751 not reviewed - contrary to policy. Huge errors in adjudication.

N-400 - Feb 2018 - Apr 2021 [Denied]

 

February 2018: N-400 filed online.  $725 paid to the USCIS paperwork wastage fund

February  2019: Interview - cancelled after a four hour wait due to 'missing paperwork' on their end. Promised Expedited reschedule.

March 2021: Interview letter received, strangely dated after I-751 denial. No I-751 interview conducted. N-400 interview and test passed, given 'cannot make a decision at this time' paper due to the ongoing I-751 nightmare...

April 2021: N-400 denial received citing recent I-751 denial as basis for ineligibility, even though it should have been a combo interview 🤯

I AM JACK'S COMPLETE LACK OF SURPRISE

Service Motion - March 2021 [Sent via FedEx & COMPLETELY IGNORED by USCIS]

 

March 2021: Service Motion request sent overnight addressed direectly to field office director, requesting urgent review and re-opening, based on errors in adjudication - citing USCIS policy, AFM and memorandums as basis for errors. This was completely ignored by USCIS.

 I-751 #3 - June 2021 - Jan 2024 [Denied]

 

IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY

June 2021: I-751 #3 (30+lbs/5000 pages of paperwork) & another $680 sent to USCIS via FedEx ($300+..thanks) .... 

June 2021: Receipt issued, card charged, biometrics waived, infopass scheduled for I-551 stamp number ten.....

Feb 2022: RFIE (no, not an RFE, a Request For Initial Evidence) received, for copies of the divorce paperwork that they already have 😑

July 2022: Infopass for I-551 stamp number eleven.....

August 2023: Infopass for I-551 stamp number twelve....

January 2024: Denial received, ignoring the overwhelming majority of the filing, abundance of evidence, and refutation of a provably false allegation. The denial also contradicts itself in multiple places, as if it was written by someone with an IQ <50.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

 

2024: FML. Seriously. I'm done.

That's the number. Trick is you first need to be able to talk to a Tier 2 agent. The people who answer the phones are Tier 1 agents, they don't have access to see anything we could not see. You somehow need to convince these people to transfer your call to a Tier 2 agent. There are threads on this forum regarding "how to talk to tier 2 agent". It is easier when your case is outside normal processing time, but needs an effort in our case since they are still on April 13th cases.

Once you get transferred to Tier 2 agent, the game still is not over. Most of these agents would again try to dismiss your call with the same cliches: we are currently working on April 13th cases, ROCs take a long time to adjudicate, I don't have access to your status, call back a month later, blah blah blah. all this person needs to do is to put your tracking number to the system and check your current status. Some of these agents are nice, can relate themselves to your long waiting, and will try to help you. JnB was able to talk to one of these agents. Again once your case falls behind normal processing time, things are a bit easier. You could do service requests, Tier 2's won't complain about your calls and will help, you could ask assistance from your congressman, do infopass, etc. But until that happens it is just pure luck to find a helpful Tier 2 agent.

Congrats JnB. Your experience with that Tier 2 agent shows they have all the information available about the cases. Whether they are nice enough to tell you about the current status vs trying to dismiss the call is another story. I'm glad yours was a helpful call.

Which number did you call? The regular 1-800-375-5283?

When I called last week I just got the same spiel I get from the online case status - nothing but 'we sent you a notice in may 2015 blah blah'.

They were insistent that they couldn't even access any more info on my case.

Charmander is right, it's the same number. I called early in the morning making sure that they just started working. The tier1 told me that normally they are not allowed to connect my call to tier2 since my case is still in the normal processing time. I insisted in a polite way anyway. It is a long shot and it is not really guaranteed that they will connect you. I guess calling in the morning might be better. Good luck..

Received a text today for status update - new card is being produced. 7 days after my approval date. This was the first time ever the online status has changed from the initial status. I'll update again once card in hand.

We recieved our GC yesterday in the mail Thanks for all the help

VSC took forever but no RFE and no interview. I'll take that any day

Congrats! Could you tell your approval date for table update?
