filed I-129 on 04-09-2015 and already have I-797 04-14-2-15

Hi, I have been reading a lot about the I-129 process through this site. The one thing I am finding different answers for everywhere is the I-797. I received a text that I am going to be receiving I-797 in the mail.. Does this mean I have everything and will not receive any RFE? I was under the impression that the I-797 takes longer than just 5 days to get. The text says "USCIS: Your case was received. Receipt # W############. Official receipt Notice (Form I-797) to follow in mail" Does this mean my petition is being forwarded to the next step or just that someone has it in their hands?

This is only your NOA1, that lets you know your case was received by the USCIS. When you are eventually approved you will receive another notice, which will be your NOA2. If more evidence is needed before you are approved, you will also be sent a notice.

I received an email today informing me they needed more evidence. I submitted photocopied tickets of museums, eating out receipts, admissions to zoo and pictures of my fiance and i at all of the places we visited. i also send my plane tickets, hotel reservations, visa and passport photos, text and skype history up to the application being sent off. I just went through the packet and everything is signed. i did not include her police report/background check or a letter from her sons father stating it is ok for her to come to the US. is this needed for this initial step or when she goes to the interview? I also did not buy a ring in Russia, but i have one now and i am returning to visit her in the next few weeks. any of this a flag for USCIS? The email did not explain what the RFE is for i have attached it below. any input is welcomed.. i am stressing a little, thanks in advance for any help.

No way of knowing for sure what they want from you until you receive the letter. One of the most common RFE's usually is the letters of intent. Did you and your fiancé both send in a letter of intent stating you will marry within 90 days of entry with a K1 visa? If you did were both letters signed with a wet signature? Did you each provide a US sized passport photo with each individual's G325A?

Did you provide a copy of your long form birth certificate (and if not, all pages of your complete passport)? Lastly, sometimes it's nothing to do with what you may have sent in.. sometimes things can become misplaced on their end and they need an additional copy of something. So for now sit tight and wait for the letter until you know for sure.

So, I filed on April 5th and my application was accepted on the 10th of April. I received my first RFE on June 8th for more documentation just showing we did not meet on a brokered site. I sent off the information and on June 16th and my case resumed on June 18th. I received my approval for I129F and case is being sent to National Visa Center. The entire process took 2 months and 1 week. I processed throught the California service center. I am scheduled to go over to see my girl on Tuesday and stay through the 8th and return the 9th. Unfortunetely she broke up with me yesterday, the day I recieved the approval for her visa.

ps I am still going to Moscow, Russia to use my ticket and reservations.. anyone want to have a beer?
