Copy of Marriage Certificate

Hello guys,

Just a quick question before submitting our AOS package. I looked at different Cover Letter and it seems like we would need 3 different marriage certificates for each form (I-485, I-131, and I-765)....Does that mean we would have to request the official certified copies or can they be photocopies? I'm a little confused because we only requested 2 certified copies and don't have 3.

Thank you guys.

Please review page 2 of the I-485 instructions (and very likely the instructions of the other indicated forms) : http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-485instr.pdf

You should send photocopies. You only need a copy of the marriage certificate for the I-485, and if you are a female changing your name through marriage, then perhaps another copy with the I-765 as I have seen some RFEs about the name for that form because it is processed separately from the I-485. Plenty provide just the one copy for all 3 forms without an RFE though.
