NBI Clearance - unpaid debt

Hi everyone!

My fiancee is worried that some past debt she didn't pay off (cell phone plan) might show up on her NBI Clearance. Does unpaid debt show up on one's NBI Clearance?

ROC:

7/2/18 - ROC packet (I-751) sent

7/5/18 - USCIS CSC received

7/13/18 - NOA (I-797) notice date

7/17/18 - $680 check cashed

7/20/18 - NOA (I-797) received

3/11/19 - Biometrics reused

6/4/19 - Case transferred to Potomac Service Center  

10/9/19 - New Card Is Being Produced / Approved

10/11/19 - Card Was Mailed To Me

10/12/19 - Approval Notice received

10/17/19 - 10-yr Green Card received

The best thing to do is get an NBI Clearance ASAP and see if it will be an issue. If it is there then yes, it's an issue. If it is not there then no it will not be and issue. If you do it early enough

If the debt has been filed in a court for adjudication then it will appear on her NBI. If that's the case then she needs to resolve as she will not be leaving the country with an unpaid debt. But if t

If it never really went to court or there was no formal complaint against her, I don't think it would appear on her NBI clearance.

It is my understanding that any court case, civil or criminal, will show up on the NBI report - I could be wrong... The deciding factor for anything to show up on the NBI will be if an "issue" has began a court or judicial proceeding.

I wouldn't worry. Probably the worst thing that can happen is her being blacklisted credit wise (Rejected for cell plans, credit cards, loans) in the Philippines.

Just make sure she doesn't do it once she gets to the States or else her FICO score goes into the shitter.

Mar 10, 2015 - 3pm - Received SMS saying IV Package ready for pickup at 2GO MoA. Picked up at 5pm. (Shipped/Picked Up/In Hand on 3rd Business Day post interview)

Mar 13, 2015 - CFO Manila - Done

The best thing to do is get an NBI Clearance ASAP and see if it will be an issue. If it is there then yes, it's an issue. If it is not there then no it will not be and issue. If you do it early enough, then maybe you can get the blemish cleaned in time for the interview. This is what you are looking for.

NBI CLEARANCE (Green Form): Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record Clearance (for travel abroad purposes) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name, married name, and any aliases or nicknames ever used, including different spellings of all names ever used. An official letter of explanation from the NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record”, or "No pending case”. For immigration purposes, an NBI clearance is considered valid only for one year from the date it is issued. You may contact NBI at (632) 523-82-31 to 38. The NBI website is http://www.nbi.gov.ph.

Understood, but I haven't even sent in my I-129F petition. I plan to do so in about 2 weeks.

She will be getting her NBI Clearance on 4/22, as that is the soonest she can go due to her work obligations.
