21 days since DS261 & still waiting IV bill

We submitted the DS-261 on March 20th, and the AOS fee has been marked as paid for a couple weeks, but the IV bill still isn't available.

The NVC website says to allow 15 days from the time DS-261 is submitted before expecting the IV invoice. It's been 21 days and I'm beginning to worry.

Is it normal to be left waiting this long?

Call NVC and nicely ask the rep if the DS 261 can be reviewed over the phone. I called after almost waiting 2 months and had a nice rep review it over the phone. My IV fee was ready to pay right the next day. Hope it helps & good luck with your journey.

So it's a matter of the DS-261 not being reviewed yet. I thought because it says, "completed" that meant it was reviewed. :(

I've been redialing NVC since the first person here replied "Call call call". It's 2:40pm Eastern time, so I suppose the call volume must be very high right now.

Just call, and have it on redial and be ready to spend some time redialing and waiting on hold when you finally get in the que. don't give up. Yea it says completed but they only open up the IV bill when they review and approve the DS-261. That's what I was told by the lady that helped me out.

The current wait time is about 42-45 days to process ds261 the agent told me... I just got an email letting me know the IV fee was ready its been maybe about 50 days. However, when I went to payment portal the fee is not showing up yet, hopefully by tom! (I'm the choice of agent for my sisters case)

You might have to talk to a few different agents before one of them will review the DS-261 for you. The many times we called, everyone we spoke to refused to review it and just referred it to a supervisor. We waited 68 days in the end, but this was May - August last year, so maybe things have changed and they will now routinely review them over the phone. You don't know until you try (repeatedly :P).

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

The same day I was advised by all you nice people to CALL them, I was able to get through after about 20 calls, then I was on hold about half hour. Once I was in contact with a real person, I told her it had been 21 days and I was becoming worried. She told me it's taking around 42 days for the DS261 to be reviewed, but since I was on the phone with her, would I like her to review it now? It took about a minute to review it, then she said I could expect the IV bill to invoiced within 1 to 7 days. The next day, though the IV bill still wasn't invoiced online, I received an email invoice for using if I planned to mail a cashiers check or money order. When I paid the AOS fee, I learned that sending a money order by Priority Express actually got results faster than paying online. Only 48 hours after I mailed the AOS payment, it was listed as "PAID" online. So that's what I've done again with the IV payment. I sent a $325 money order by Priority Express yesterday, and according to USPS tracking, it reached NVC in Missouri today. Meanwhile, online the IV bill was only just invoiced today. I expect by tomorrow morning it will show as PAID and I can do the DS260.

Ouray777, please keep us posted with the result of your DS 260 form. I'm in the same situation as you, received the email invoice which you have to attach when mailing your payment. I'm undecided whether or not I should mail my payment already or wait until it becomes available online.
