It's a good theory. I mean there isn't much else to go on. I just don't understand why it's gotten so slow recently in comparison but I think like everything it fluctuates.

Yes- I was telling my fiancé last night- everything seems to fluctuate or change when it's our turn. Like all cases being transferred to CSC starting March 27th....or our interview date being scheduled 7 1/2 weeks after our medical.....now the visas are taking longer to go out from the embassy. I'm so freaking over this process. And every time I see a CSC petition approved in 14 days I literally want to punch a wall.

I think it's a busy month at the embassy with all the tourists, students, etc. needing to get their stuff for summer. more visas of all types to print.

Lee-- what's the story with K's not being processes by the Immigrant Visa Unit? What happened in May? Or do you mean after the interview they get shifted?

Yes, my speculation is they are shifted after the interview.

I am leaning towards your Henry that e recent change in interview tImes is down to the high volume of summer tourist visa applications May through June.

Here is why I think K1 is being processed as non immigrant after the interview.

I used the stats section of the forum for about a month before my interview, using filters and the advanced search option. I noticed that from May, when they changed the interviews to 1 pm the spouse visas were being received in under a week post interview. On he contrary, K1's, which had previously been received within an average of 7-8 days were suddenly taking around 11-12 days to arrive. On the day of the interview I had the pleasure of waiting with some lovely folk in the immigrant line. We kept in touch afterwards. The CR1 visas were in hand within four working days. The K1s took nearly two weeks. I'm certainnthT our file was placed in a non immigrant bin at the conclusion of my interview. I think that this may or may or may not be deliberate, but it certainly seems to have affected the way things were previously operating.

Ugh! That makes too much sense to me Haha which means you are probably right and that also means it probably means that he won't get it by the end of the week :(

But seriously why does everything slow down as soon as we all get to that stage. It's like driving up to a light right as it turns red over and over again. That really gets some road rage going in me.

Yikes! That will be cutting it close to my wedding with Scott's interview. PA has a 3 day wait on marriage licenses and the 3rd is a holiday here

Yes, we had the same stress because William travels some days for work so we couldn't just pick any day to go get the license. Not sure what your state's conditions are, but in Florida they let you waive the three day wait if you take an approved marriage course which can be fine online in advance. It may be worth looking into that as it was our back up too.

Also, check the wording carefully. We only recently found out that the three says doesn't include the date you apply or the date of marriage so if you count all those days it's five!

Exactly! And we hit every holiday or long weekend at each crucial stage too. We never thought that even pushing it as hard as we did it would take three months from noa2. Especially when there have been people on here who managed a wedding three months from filing!

His interview is the 16th, wedding July 11th. We should be ok, but still it worries me.

You should be fine. We hit a public holiday in the waiting period but our interview was 27 days before the wedding and we made it just fine.

Our state actually says 72 hours wait, I believe, and the time/date was put on the license. So if your license says issued at 3pm, the ceremony has to be later than 3pm three days later. When my judge friend signed the license as the officiant, he had to put the date and time. I guess that is clearer than saying 3 days and then wondering what counts as a "day". But you can also get a judge to waive the 72 hr rule. Our task the morning after our arrival from England was to go to the courthouse. It was a Wednesday and the wedding was Sunday. We actually had a day to spare in case of "red lights" like Wooderz keeps catching.

oh, good to know nich-nick. I haven't spent much time looking into the marriage license stuff yet because what's the point. We're so fed up with this process and Daniel is so ready to leave that we're now talking about a quickie courthouse ceremony to get the AOS rolling. We really didn't want to do that and always planned to have Daniel stay a while longer after visa approval until right up near the planned wedding. That seems like a really stupid thing to do now considering how long every single step is taking.

The marriage license wait time (if applicable) varies so much from state to state. Ours has the date of application and a date from which it is valid and an expiration date, although no time is specified. Always good to check.

Erin, tell Scott to pack as if he's leaving right from the interview! We were ready to walk out the door before the visa arrived. We've waited long enough
