Can we use any border crossing as a POE?

Sorry, it seems to be a question that would be answered somewhere else, but I can't find it. Can we use any border crossing by car? We are having our things shipped via Upack. Do we have to use the same border crossing as our shipment? Can we use a Nexus lane/bridge?

I crossed in niagara falls, ontario... with a cab actually... cabbie had to come in as well but, i explained that he was just the cab driver and let him go after ten mins... after he left i was called in and everything was a breeze! Good Luck!

Thank you!! =) That's funny they called the cabby in! haha I found a spot from the link that A&B supplied and i was able to call the border and they talked me through the whole thing whether my husband is travelling with me, whether we can use the Nexus crossing or if my husband (the immigrant) can or not. The person on the phone made it seem so straight-forward! I can't wait!

And I just had another thought, depending on when and where you decide to go you might take a moment to check to see if it is Spring Break or March Break where you will be. The border crossings are usually extra busy and frustrating at those times. And Easter long weekend coming up, too.

Just some extra stuff to keep in mind. Good luck with everything!

I think it will be the Peace Bridge. Good idea with the holidays. I don't think we will be near any since the interview isn't until the end of April anyways. Hopefully we don't have to wait until mid-May before getting the packet and passport back! haha

I cross the Peace Bridge monthly And used to cross it almost weekly for a long time before I moved to the U.S. Take some time to read my review of my POE. Mine was a totally crummy experience but it was out of the ordinary! It's such a busy crossing so they do a lot of entries!

I just read it... seems you got slow people no matter where you were! haha We will have to make sure that we don't cross near any dinner/lunch hour. ;o) Good to know about the electronics. I will have to pack something for the kids to entertain themselves.

When you do go, I would ask the officer who is at the door if the kids can bring something in with them. You might be pleasantly surprised and hopefully they'll say yes! My kids were only 4 and 7, not sure how old yours are but there were only so many times they could look at the Bald Eagle and the TV that had the news on! Haha.
