Speeding up the procedure in NVC

majoruty of posters are going on specualtion and not hard facts. I have been receiving many PM's from many people in regards to expedites as I had a succesful expedite, the NVC told me that a expedite does not delay your case any further if you do or do not file a expedite. From the way the explained it to me they simply send the email you send them to the respective embassy and wait on a response. No other paperwork just what you submit within the expedite.

The clear favorite that seems to be winning approval is "severe financial difficulty" claim.

I am also inclined to believe with the processing times at the NVC increasing every week that the embassies are sort of lightening their load (NVC) and taking on the cases to get them completed.

Nothing to loose but maybe 10 minutes of your time to write the expedite and email it. I will say this my expedite email was less that 500 words. Submitted and approved by the embassy in less that 2 weeks.

it's certain possible to chase an expedite,

but an expedite granted at NVC actually STOPS all processing at NVC,

with the casefile 'in its current state' sent on to the embassy.

then they have to try to gather up your stuff remaining, and get an appointment into the calendar, usually 45 days out.

Shifting the casefile takes 30 days, usually, with an expedite.

Getting an approved expedite at NVC can take up to 20 days, as well.

I suggest you follow up, instead, with NVC and get the right stuff in, let them schedule the interview instead.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Requesting an expedite does not stop processing at NVC. Tonyb919 summed it up pretty well. I was told the same thing and I requested an expedite because the NVC suggested it.. I got my case complete the next day so I never heard back about the expedite.

Could I send in an expedite request even though NVC hasnt recieved my case from USCIS yet? would It do me any good? The rep on the phone told me to wait till they assign a case #, but I never know if I should believe them completely or not.

If they don't have your file to assign a case number, how is the NVC supposed to ask for an expedite? they don't know who you are and the embassy has no idea who you are. Let them assign a case number before you ask for anything.
