Alright, so, new update.

We were getting super stressed again and we decided to send an e-mail in order to try and obtain some more information. This is what we've been told:

"Visa records show that your application is currently under review and awaiting receipt of a visa number to become available for you. Please be advised that as soon as further action can be taken on your case, you will be notified."

Is this good news or bad news? Does this mean the 50.000 limit has been reached?

Many thanks!

It's good news in that it's been (finally) approved. It's "bad" news in that you lost the previously assigned visa number for your case (because your case went past the end of the month of your interview) and all available visa numbers are currently assigned to those interviewing in the remainder of August and September. So basically - you need to wait for someone to be denied, or not arrive for their interview, and have their visa number reallocated to you. I don't know what the chances of this are but personally - given that you still have a month and a half till end of FY I'd be reasonably confident you'll get your visa. Good luck!

Thanks Susie!

In fact our case changed to "READY" on the 13th of July, however, we still have no answers and, even though we are hopeful, there is a feeling of despair.

Your opinion is something that's keeping our hope up but, do you know until when we can get answers? Is it the end of September or earlier?

Well, technically they have until 30 Sept to issue you a visa. Hopefully they will know at least by next week (new month) if there is a visa number for you, if not you will have to wait for someone else to be denied or not show up for their interview....

PedroR, have been thinking about you and was wondering did you finally get a DV before the 30/09/15 cut off?

Unfortunately no, we didn't get a visa. A few days ago we got an email informing us of this but they still don't answer anything about our passports (they have them since March). Hopefully we'll get this sorted soon and be able to move on with our lives.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has helped us and supported us during this whole process.

Oh Pedro I am so sad to hear that :( And it seems so unnecessary with just the bad luck of inter-embassy communication. Wishing you all the best as you move on from this.

Sad to hear, as you said get your life back on track and hopefully if you enter for 2017 it works out for you all.

People, i have a problem. Visa has been approved but!!! When im trying to check my visa status its all the time INVALID. WHAT IS IT????

Seems clearly a system problem, if your visa is approved why are you wasting energy on worrying about a status most people never check....? Relax!

I didn't.
