So i called up nvc last monday asking when im going to get my welcome letter then the customer representative said to wait for 28 days after the issuance of my case number, so i was like okay waiting game again. Then this email came to me today i was really shocked.

"Due to the numerical limitations on immigrant visa issuance prescribed by law, this petition is not eligible for further processing at this time."

as ive checked on the website it said

Approved petitions in the categores below are not subject to annual limits.

  • IR-1: The spouse of a U.S. Citizen

So im a really on hold? Is this normal? Or should i call them back regarding this issue?

Thanks!

Are you the petitioner a US citizen or a LPR?

did he upgrade his citizenship whilst the casefile was at USCIS? If yes, is quite possible that NVC is unaware of it.

Suggest the petitioner to call in and check status, calling into NVC, about the casefile and casefile type designator.

usually, the first human that answers the phone is not giving accurate answers.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hi darnell, when we submit the case to USCIS he was already a US Citizen and all of the other files he was listed as a US Citizen, like marriage papers etc. Im on hold at NVC now. WHat do you suggest i ask them?
