Good Morning/Evening VJ Members

My interview was on February 16th but because the embassy called me 4 days before the interview which was in February 12th there was no way to get my medical prior the interview date. However, I called the doctor office and they told me to go the interview and when they ask about the medical explain what happened and come to get the medical next day after the interview.

I did and the interview was okay and the last thing the guy who interviewed me said was: you missing the medical, and he handed me a paper and my passport then he said your case is fine get your medical send it with this paper & your passport and you'll get your visa, Good day!

Next day I got my medical it took 2 days then I got the results the closed envelope & x-ray & another paper on February 23rd I sent it to the embassy through Aramex the same day, according to Aramex it was delivered the next day the 24th.

the online status on CEAC was AP since the interview then only the date changed from 16th to 26th but still AP. So, I emailed them on the 26th to check if they received the medical & my passport and the answer was:

Kindly be advised that the case is going under final review by the consular officer before it is finally issued.

So, I waited but nothing changed I emailed them again if there's any thing missing and the answer was:

At this stage no further documents are required , if any documents are required you will be notified.

The only thing that changes the status update it was February 26th now it's March 3rd but still AP!

I don't understand what's going on or is that normal it's been already stressful process and I'm just posting this maybe someone has been through the same thing..

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I know it's different one consulate from another, but for my case I was put in AP after the interview for one document missing (Interview was February 17th) My status was in AP until March 2nd. The date did change once when they received my documents. I think a separate person enter the documents in the computer and another one is in charge of making the decision before it changes for READY. after changing for READY I was back to AP for a couple of days. Hope this help

it must be different in certain countries then, as I know in the UK they don't schedule your interview until they receive the results of your medical exam. So you can't go to the Embassy until they have it

Yup true it's different for each country here you take the medical with you to the interview, also they only gave me 4 days before the interview there was no way to get the medical done in 4 days!

You will be fine. It will switch to "issued" soon. If not, keep on emailing them, the Cairo consulate at least replies daily. if AP drags on for super long, your fiancee should get the congressperson involved. But right not i'd say you're probably fine. The interviewer didn't give you any other reason to worry.

Do u recommed to prepare the medical before calling me for the interview?

Absolutely yes! If you don't take the medical information to the interview you will get a delay. That is obviously the trouble Mohamed31 is dealing with. You should email the consulate and ask if you have an interview date yet. If they don't have one for you, they will tell you "we are currently scheduling interviews for those applications received on..." and if you are anywhere near that time they say, go ahead and schedule the medical and get it done before your interview.

I'm so sorry mohamed, that is really confusing. They probably have you on AP for some reason. Keep trying. And if the AP takes more than 2 months, I would go the congressman route.
