My heart sank when I read this. Sank even further when I read the solution...

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/security/police-cert/north-america/canada.asp

How to get a police certificate - Canada

Do I need to provide a Police Certificate with my Application for Permanent Residence? No

Name of document(s) to get: Criminal Record Check

How to get a Police Certificate:

If you are not a citizen of Canada:

If you live outside of Canada:

The Canadian visa office will tell you if you need a Canadian criminal record check while your application is being processed. If the visa office asks you to complete a criminal record check, visit the RCMP website for instructions. You must bring:

  • A full set of fingerprints that have:
    • rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers taken with black ink
    • full name, date of birth and sex of the applicant
    • the name and address of the police agency
    • the signature of the official taking the fingerprints
  • A complete application form (available on the RCMP website)
  • Reason for your request (eg. For immigration)
  • Your full name
  • Date of birth
  • Sex
  • Mailing address
  • Phone number (and/or fax number and/or e-mail address)
  • Applicable fees

Suddenly the issue we had yesterday at the medical exam seems minor compared to this. :(

All is not lost, just my plane tickets. Searching on the Canadian forms got me a link to a company that expedites the process and allows for finger printing to be done in the home country and mailed to them.

So looks like a loss of two weeks. My mom will watch my kids still and my Sgt. said to take the time as well, I won't lose my job.

I feel so blessed that this will not end with me leaving him behind yet again.

God has blessed us with more time here with his family and still traveling together back home.

While reading the Canadian website, they mentioned a service that can do a digital scan of the fingerprints and eliminate the need for mailing them and waiting. Have you looked into this possibility to expedite the process? Is there someplace there in Ukraine that can do this and send direct to Canada?

Thank you Kyle! I just updated my timeline and it gives me an estimate of between september 20th till october 13th. I had Chris call the TSC on may 15th and they told him then that they'd look at our case on oct 29 so this is progress! Although I don't want to get my hopes up yet this did make it look a little better.

Good Luck

Not true. This post is 133 pages of March 2015 filers - not a support group for disgruntled TSC filers. It is 133 pages of success stories, people helping other people through situations they are unfamiliar with and the random TSC filer envious of the CSC filer that is getting into the party ahead of them. Let's not get the subject of this post confused.

TSC is a wreck, compared to CSC. I get it. TSC filers coming on various posts here on the forum comment range from passive aggressive to outright rants. They really serve no purpose and typically derail the subject of the original question a CSC filer is asking. As an example, I got an RFE and had to wait 45 days from the time CSC received my response and when asking questions about it, got the angry mob of TSC filers "No sympathy for you - we have been waiting forever" rants and venting that interrupted the original question regarding the RFE.

This process is a test of one's patience. Its clear from being here since before March that some people have more than others. At the same time, it is wise to be reasonable with your expectations and not mentally set yourself up for failure. Every case is different. You cannot base your expectations off of other people's cases and situations. They can only give you some direction but in the end, each case is different.

It feels like the embassy interview is the hottest nightclub in town and of course everyone wants to get in. There's the usual group of people that get in ahead of others that have been waiting longer. You know the deal - people with connections, know someone or whatever. The party is going on inside, everyone is inside having a good time and others are on the outside looking in. Having said that, I understand the TSC filer side. I started this post on March as the first March filer. I got an RFE that delayed the process for a few days while I waited for the letter, a week getting the info they need then 45 days for NOA2. In the meantime, I have watched people that filed after me get their NOA2, pass their interviews at the embassy and already arrive here in the US.

Am I upset? Not really. I just continue to stay focused on the end result and not get distracted by the outside noise (other people's cases and individual situations). Again, our case is different than others. Everyone's is...

Kyle, I understand you feel TSC is a "Black hole". Its not. They just move at a different speed than CSC. In a Black hole, things disappear and never get seen again. Like socks in the dryer. You have been waiting for about 4 months. Just because CSC has been moving unusually fast does not mean you have been forgotten nor does it mean the CSC filers got the "VIP treatment" using my prior nightclub analogy. In looking at your signature, you have over researched the TSC processing timeframes and set an expected NOA2 date. You have even setup a ticker. I'm afraid for you that by doing so, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Correct me if I am wrong, but not only is your relationship with Linh a long distance one, but also long term (compared to others)? If so, another couple of months is not the end of the world? Further, again correct me if I am wrong, but did your fiancee also come here a few times on a Tourist visa for visits? If so, you are lucky. Most do not have that luxury.

We all want to be with our loved ones and begin our new lives together. In the end it will happen for all of us. Be patient and keep your focus on the end result and it makes the whole journey easier

Tony,

Many thanks for all your quick and insightful help yesterday. It was a tense hour or so but in the end your suggestions were helpful and gave us some direction. Sees we were on the same page, but in the chaos it was good to have another helpful mind with very recent experience. At the same time, thank you for taking our conversation private as there's no need to booger up the post with two pages or so of our chatter back and forth.

Melanie completed Day 1 of medical. She goes back tomorrow morning to complete it. For those in the Philippines, she said that they told her at St. Lukes, Monday - Wednesday are busiest days. Thursday - Friday not so busy. Its also been quite rainy lately and the rain has kept the mob of people smaller than normal

Day 2 went well and Medical is done. Melanie flies back home tomorrow for a week or so with family until leaving for her interview on 7/22. After the interview, she will stay in Manila with her brother until the visa is issued and pick it up at 2GO at MOA in Manila and depending on the day issued fly here immediately after completing CFO.

I don't know. Today we went through so much pain just trying to get someone to finger print him.

First the local police refused, then the regional (county) police in the next big town also refused and told us to try the place that issues passports. They also refused, so we went back to the police department in frustration. He then said to try the Forensic dept.

First the woman was hesitant, saying she didn't think it was allowed but she asked her supervisor. He looked over the paperwork and said to put his name on it. So we finally got fingerprinting done, but too late to overnight.

We will send it Monday overnight and hope to have it back within 2 weeks.

gtessier:

First off. Lighten up. If you have read my posts you will see I am on the side of positive for the TSC Black Hole group. Yes I call it a "Black Hole"... all in fun.... such is my humor. There have been a lot of funny posts and pictures on VJ about the delay in paperwork in Texas ....so come on.... Laugh at the situation! :dancing:

First off I am a fan of your posts. You seem like a guy who has it together and your RFE was total BS. But hey we are working with the Government here, so its a cr@p shoot on every application. You just happened to get the wrong person on a wrong day. Sucks for you major league, but you are dealing with it in a fine way. I still think you should have gone there and beat the s*!t out of them in Laguna Nigel? to get an answer

In the population of March Filers we have people who got the luck of the draw either geographically or by date of application to get the faster track. You my friend are the beneficiary of both geography from living in California and have a future bride from a country that the Government has chosen to accelerate through the process. Unfortunately for you delays happened from a bureaucrat who chose to slow you down. You will recover. For me I am geographically undesirable and picked an unfortunate date to apply. If I would have known the CSC Express offramp was available by waiting 2 weeks , believe me I would have taken it. But that is not reality so it sucks for me and the rest of my mates in the Black Hole.

I am not disgruntled, unhappy, or unrealistic. I like math and I crunch numbers so I wanted to take an educated guess using available data in March 2015 on the theory of the cue in front of me. I feel I have been pretty good except, I could not predict how large the VJ population would grow ahead of me over time so I will have error in the prediction. I will be off, but I don't think by much since I see things speeding up. If I am on the front side of the "Bell Curve" I will be fine. No worries

As to you and many others on here, who's current worry is about interviews and medical exams. I hope I can worry about that soon, but many of us that is in the distance and we can't relate to what you are going through. So while I am not demeaning you or others in this situation, people from the Black Hole are learning from your posts so keep it up. We will deal with that soon.

As to my bride being here with me. Yes I have the good fortune that she is a fantastic astute business lady that was able to obtain a 1 year B1/B2 visa from a tough embassy that has made my last year wonderful. So yes I have not suffered the separation like you and others, sadly she will head home soon, but I hope about the same time we get a NOA2.

All of us from the March TSC Black Hole are rooting for you and the March CSC filers. Please keep up the dialog of your journey and soon we will crawl over the wall and join you on the other side.

Good Luck to You and All of us
