she can live wherever she wants for how long she wants. there is no time limit to live abroad, she can live the rest of her life abroad, if she wants to

the only thing is that she has to pay taxes to Uncle Sam

the only thing is that she has to pay taxes to Uncle Sam

She will only have to file taxes if she meets the minimum threshold (personal exemption and personal deduction).

If she is over the threshold, then she is required to file a US tax return.

There is a foreign income exclusion around $95000.

If her income exceed $95000, then she would owe taxes.

Just because a USC lives abroad and earns money, it doesn't mean she has to pay US taxes. If fact, she may not even be required to file a US tax return if her income is low enough.
