Good Day everyone.

I KNOW I have seen this topic before, but I can't seem to find it on the advanced search page. So sorry for asking this again. New here.

I was just wondering if there is a colour of ink that the USCIS prefers things to be ( wet)signed in.

Now I have read on the I-129F instructions that they state to complete either on your computer or with black ink.

So I would assume black is the standard? I do remember people saying something about blue ink.

We will be going through CSC if that makes a difference? she lives in LA.

By the way, when did CSC start pushing out approvals within like 2 or 3 weeks? :)

Reason I ask is that she( the USC) is visiting me in 2 weeks time and I thought we could have some of the forms signed( G-325A,letters of intent etc.) whilst she is here, so I would rather err on the side of caution to ensure there isn't a RFE or something because of the ink being the wrong colour. I know it is something trivial. Haven't even started the process and I am going full OCD :content:

We will be filing when she returns from visiting me, thus around the last week of March. We are REALLY hoping for an approval by August ( my birthday, wouldn't that make a wonderful birthday gift!?) But we wouldn't mind a July either!

I welcome your comments.

All the best everyone

And remember a few months wait is a small price to pay for eternity. :D

Black or blue should work for signatures. I have not noticed anyone complaining of an RFE for signing in blue ink. If you want to make sure they see they are original signatures, then place the paper on top of something softer, like a magazine. This will create indents in the paper as you sign, showing it is not a copy. That way no need to use another color of ink. Black works just fine.

I have read some people argue that blue is better because it cannot be mistaken for a printed/scanned signature which would of course most likely to be black. However, all ours were black and had no issues. So I think either is ok!

Thank you Pheebs. I see you recently got approved! congratulations!

Hmm, so seems there is an argument for blue, but no one seems to have any issues with it being signed in black.

Thank you :)

I really wouldn't worry about it, just go with whichever coloured pen is within closest reach! Just don't sign it in rainbow colours with pink, green, purple and red all alternating for each letter :P:lol:

I shall do my best to ensure that the Rainbow Nation does not spill onto the colour of pen I eventually choose :content:

You also managed to get approved in record time I see? is CSC really that quick?! I am glad we will be at CSC then!

Whilst on that topic, any hiccups or tips regarding the process?

I think we got really, really luck with our timings but yes CSC is much faster than TSC, the poor people at TSC are waiting around 7 months for their NOA2, its ridiculous!

Just triple check everything. If we hadn't done that, Im sure we would have gotten an RFE for something. Can't think of anything else!

Yes, people say blue shows it is not a copy. However, most everyone has a color printer in their homes now, and so a signature can be blue and still be a copy. That is why I suggest signing so the paper indents through the back with a ballpoint pen, in black or blue because it makes little difference.
