While I would like my fiance to be here sooner, the reality of it is I'm not sure I'd be ready to relocate him withing 2 months of sending a petition like some of the CSC and/or Philippines filers are. Ideally yea that would be great to be approved so fast and the euphoria would be through the roof. But realistically I NEED the five months to get documents together and plan time from work to drive here from Canada (35 hours or driving not including sleeping) and tying up lose ends on his side. Now, I don't need 7 months to approaching a year like the wait appears. However, getting approved in 3 weeks would stress me out more than waiting 7 months...

I tend to agree. 6 months is perfect if you ask me. If gives you time to gather documents and sort your life out at each others ends. But it does look like we'll be waiting the full 6 1/2 to 7 months. We just have to make the most of it!

I'm hoping to get married at the end of October/ beginning of November! :)

I hope everything is all clear for you to get married then. We will have a civil ceremony when he arrives to satisfy the requirements, then plan for an actual wedding later. What part of the states will be you moving to, Charlie? An Oct/Nov wedding would be so lovely in some areas.

We aren't officially planning anything of course. Just projected dates. I live in Pennsylvania so the weather is really beautiful that time of year. We were hoping for a summer wedding, but of course that isn't at all possible now, but the Fall will be nice! I'm honestly not picky, as long as we are married before the holiday hassle of December I'll be more than happy! :)

What about yourself? When is your projected ceremony time?

I love Pa! My father's family is from Indiana, Pa. I would like to have a very small informal event in April or May 2016 just maybe 25 people at most (close relatives, friends, coworkers). There is this really cute outdoor venue here that is designed for small ceremonies http://www.glengardenweddings.com/

Hi! I am a January 2015 filer and my love is from Holland. They received my petition January 21 the NOA1 notice is January 23. I access this site a few times a day as well the check my progress with the USCIS. When I found out how slow the TSC is I was saddened but still have hope as I am sure the rest of you do. So lets stay positive and hope

things will progress. I have noticed that some get expedited quicker and I am not sure of the reason. Anyhow, am glad to join this group.

I just take it as one day at a time. I don't get too worried over making plans because then I have expectations that may not be met. Time moves a lot quicker than you think. I use my time by preparing documents and gathering information for when he moves here. The k1 wait is the easiest thing when you consider what will need to happen upon entry and marriage. Do yourselves a favour while you wait and make a game plan for saving money for the AOS ($1k USD) and working permits, social security, drivers license, rental lease arrangements etc.

I started a binder collecting information and making a to do list. The wait is what it is and nothing short of a miracle is going to change it. So given the wait we all have together, why not use it to get our ducks in a row. :)

Hey Kel!

I would like to think a first week of November wedding will be possible. That's 10 months between petition and wedding. I think that's quite doable, but just don't put money on anything so you don't lose it!

My fiancé and I Skype for at least an hour a day (if not more). If he's at a party, he'll call me and I'll get involved. I speak with his family and friends. It's quite engaging. I mean we'be been doing it for over a year now. I suppose we're kinda used to it? However, that doesn't mean that we don't miss our physical selves together! Every day there's a small lump in my throat, but just think how short the wait is compared to a lifetime of happiness!

This is going to be the longest 4 month wait apart. But we can do it and I have no doubts! As you know if you don't have trust in you relationship, you're pretty much screwed. But otherwise, try to enjoy the journey and learn from it! It'll make your relationship that much stronger before you get married! :)

Well we are three months into our waiting period. Nothing is going on as far as I can see. When I heard that some of the workload would be transferred to California my fiancé and I were very hopeful. Now from what we are seeing it is the new filers. Does this mean we all are still stuck in the hole at TSC or can we expect a quicker process? The waiting is hard but we Skype often and talk on WhatsApp. Does anyone think that TSC will process our files any quicker or is it business as usual? Anyhow I am glad to make the journey with all of you.

I'm looking forward to an end of July to beginning of August approval; however, I'm not holding my breath as anything could happen! Be it approved earlier too!

I have one optimistic thought...that being that since we're the very first month of the new year, as the year progresses the USCIS will think to themselves..."Wow! We are behind we need to get onto the new year filers to make it look like we're moving at a quicker pace." That's the only idea I could think of that's positive for us....any thoughts?

The good news is that they might be sending new filers from the Phillipines so that means they won't be put ahead of us. Not sure how much of a help that is though.

Sending new Phillipine filers where? And that may be good news for us...

If all new petitions go to CSC; so do Filipino ones. Hence no more jumping in front of us for the time being.
