Hey guys,

My name is Alicia and I am a 25 years old female from France. I am more than confused about which vaccines I need to get.

The USCIS website (http://www.uscis.gov/news/questions-and-answers/vaccination-requirements) says that the following vaccines are required:

  • Mumps
  • Measles
  • Rubella
  • Polio
  • Tetanus and Diphtheria Toxoids
  • Pertussis
  • Haemophilus influenzae type B
  • Hepatitis B
  • Any other vaccine-preventable diseases recommended by the Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices

But if I look at the CDC website (http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/laws-regs/vaccination-immigration/revised-vaccination-immigration-faq.html) for my age, I only need to do:

- Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis)
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella)
- Varicella
- Influenza

Which ones do I truly need?

Also, on the I-693 (Report for Medical Examination), it says that I need to have the TB and Syphilis tests done. Is that required? Does the immigration doctor has to be the one doing these tests?

I know that's a lot of questions but I am truly confused. I do not want to get more vaccines than I need... I hate needles.... :/

Thank you!

What visa are you adjusting from?

For AOS you only need the ones for your age > http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/vaccination-civil-technical-instructions.html#tbl1

If you are not adjusting from a K-1 family based visa, then you will need the whole medical exam. > http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/medical-examination-faqs.html#4
