Warren Sapp fired by NFL Network following arrest for soliciting prostitutes, assault

Sapp, a pro football Hall of Famer who'd been at NFL Network since 2008, had previously been arrested on domestic violence charges in 2010 and 2014.

TV football analyst and NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp was fired by the NFL Network on Monday, just hours after Phoenix police arrested him on charges of soliciting prostitutes and assault.

"Warren Sapp’s contract has been terminated and he no longer works for NFL Network," company spokesman Alex Riethmiller confirmed to the Daily News Monday evening.

In town to cover Sunday’s Super Bowl for the NFL Network, Sapp was reportedly taken to the Maricopa County Jail around 7 a.m. local time and booked on charges of Soliciting Prostitution and two counts of assault, both misdemeanor offenses.

Sources told TMZ that Sapp hired two "escorts" to join him at his hotel room, where things reportedly turned violent due to an argument over money. The women called police after the alleged assault, and officers found evidence of injuries consistent with a struggle on both of them.

Sapp "admitted involvement in the act of prostitution" when questioned by police "but denied assaulting the females," according to the source.

Looks like he can sue the NFL network then .. They seem to believe the hookers . . He is behind a few million on support payments correct. Maybe he can get enough to pay the ex wife.

After the Ray Rice thing, I imagine the NFL (Owners of the NFL Network) are probably hyper-sensitve to anything that can be construed as anti-women. However, prostitution (Not human traficking) is anything but anti-women. Quite the opposite actually.

as long as prostitution is illegal - it is anti women (or men, whatever). as long as prostitutes are jailed and fined, etc etc..it's not a good thing.

Agreed. The illegality (word?) makes it susceptible to the criminal element. Same as drugs etc. In Thailand it is is technically illegal, but no one is ever prosecuted for it. The only real problem is that the cops are always running around with their hands out shaking bar owners down etc. But the women themslves are not trafficked for the most part. I have seen cases of under age Lao girls working in Karaoke bars etc., but it's so wide open there that adults are never trafficked, at least that I could see or read about.

oh i didn't know he had a history. i actually just looked him up because i suppose i had him confused for someone who played for the redskins in the 80s. i don't know who, but this guy is young.
