What if you were the beneficiary of a fairly large inheritance, possibly at risk from others, meanwhile, the contributor was suffering from dementia?

Would you consider a lawyer? Even though you love your father very much, would you consider legal action to protect his intentions, that may now be manipulated by a 3rd party?

Life throws many daggers at you, yet you must somehow manage the response. Thoughts?

You must do this as soon as you can especially if you have concerns about his wishes being subverted.

If you don't do it someone with less concern for your father might just do it themselves.

I agree with everyone else. A lawyer is a must in this situation. Nothing like money to bring out people's ugly side.

William, if he has dementia, he isn't even going to realize that you have had to take this step.

What do you think he would have said to you about such things in his younger years? Did he ever offer up opinions on 'vultures'? Did he feel strongly about building a legacy for his heirs?

I think if you search your heart for the parent you remember, you will find the answer.
