honestly, i thought it would be way more difficult to get married abroad- plus my family's already being sorta nasty about me getting married, it would be even worse if i didn't do it here :( but also i think it would be so hard to be married and apart- I'm glad your process was shorter than expected!! My friend is about to do the same with his Japanese fiancee- marry in Japan, then apply for CR-1.

Little update from me! Flew in May 13th, settling in well with a few bumps along the way and have had some great support from other VJ-ers. We applied for AOS end of July, NOA was August 5th and our AOS was approved exactly three months later on November 5th with no interview ? To those going through the process it is worth it, it may get a little rough with adjusting to a new life in the US but it's totally worth it ? Now on to collating evidence for ROC in a couple years time. Wishing you all well on this crazy but worth it journey!

First of all, CONGRATS!

Secondly... did I read that right?? It only took 3 months for your AOS to be approved?

It did, I was in complete shock when I randomly checked my case number and saw a message. I had to get a friend to go and check it for me as well. I was VERY surprised.

6 weeks tomorrow for me. I just called and they said they have until midnight tonight otherwise if I call again tomorrow I can put it forward for a supervisor review.

Seems like other people have had good luck with the supervisor review turning over quickly? I guess I should do that? She told me it hasn't been looked at yet so I know it's not a problem with the application, just hasn't been touched.

I called again and put our application into supervisor review. I'm hoping we have the same luck other people have had recently with that. The lady today was not very nice (She started with incorrectly stating 6 weeks was on Friday when it was actually today). She didn't sound to happy about putting it forward to be reviewed so when I asked how long it should take she said "It can take 6 weeks again". I'm going to try calling tomorrow and hoping I get someone nicer.

Congrats valentinanola!

I just was told something by an NVC person that I haven't heard before. Wondering if other people have gotten this information:
I had them notify the supervisor for review yesterday (6 week mark). I was asking more information today when I called to check in. The lady said that the supervisor review doesn't actually remove the case from the queue to be reviewed normally. It only notifies a supervisor that it has been over 6 weeks and if they are available they can review it. It doesn't actually delay the outcome of the normal review process. It can only make it quicker if the supervisor looks at it, but if they don't it remains in the queue that it was sitting in prior to requesting a supervisor review.
Has anyone received that info? If true, then there is never a reason to avoid supervisor review?

Visa issued today, we were on AP only for one day :)

You have a similar timeline to mine. I had my interview on Nov 10th 12:00pm too, but sadly I was there for almost 3 and a half hours. Interview was quick and painless thankfully, the consular officer was very nice and approved it after a couple minutes.

Case status was AP on the 14th and issued on the 15th. I've just booked a flight on the 29th, so I'm hoping the courier service will contact me soon!
