Hey there, we were waiting the 2 weeks from entry as per the SSN guide on VJ - so it worked fine for you without waiting?

Yep I got it without a visit.

(Well, I DID visit, on the 28th, the same day the card was in the mailbox, so it was a pointless visit!)

Card was mailed to the address I wrote on the DS260, not the one I gave at POE.

Less than a month since entry and already got a job, SSN, a few credit cards, car title on my name etc. Still waiting for the GC though. Love it!

That's great news that you're about to submit AOS :) Congratulations on your wedding, and for arriving here :) I hope everything is going okay otherwise! Once you've submitted (or even before!), you can keep track with other people who filed around the same time as you. For instance, there are a number of threads for filers in the past few months.

Simon :)

Out of curiosity, is there a benefit of getting the visa delivered to your home rather than the depot? When my fiance had a work visa, the embassy told him that home delivery was faster, so he opted for that, but looking at the data, it seems that home delivery and depot take about the same time.

Convenience is the only thing I can think of. But my decision was made based on cost because I had a depot just 15 mins from my house. I would guess if it's a lot further to it, it's worth paying to get it straight to the house.

WOW

Approved AGAIN - everything went great at embassy.

I was very worried at one point even though they said congratulations yous are both approved. They then couldn't access my daughters case to allow me to sign via fingerprints- so we had to go wait in waiting room for another hour while they redid her DS160 form only to be told actually can you come back at 3pm as we are having problems.

So we come back at 3pm to an empty consulate waiting room- scary. After another 20mins they called us round again to window 15 and said ok all good now can you sign for your daughter- Because we had previously applied and been approved our new ds160s were causing an error so they redid daughters sent it off to Washington to get verified/approved or something and reloaded.

BRILL service all along the guy kept apologizing for keeping us waiting for the problems- I was just happy that we were approved.

so hopefully no more glitches and we shall get passports back asap- they did keep asking when we needed them back and wrote asap on file( im sure they do that for everyone).
