Pick your own for K1 and DCF has only been in effect two months. There's still slots set aside for NVC in the manner they have always done so that part shouldn't be different. NVC has to micro manage and check all your documents and take payment ahead of time. They come up with some weird RFEs on the I-864. Things I am sure London wouldn't even be bothered with. And London does have the final say. And it takes them a long time to get around to your case to check it. It's kind of a bottleneck in my opinion since DCF people get the same visa without NVC. London checks everything at the interview for DCF and K1. If it's unacceptable, they tell you what to fix before they can issue the visa.

So this online scheduling is new and I don't have my head around it yet. Wondering if once NVC gives you an interview date, you would somehow be able to log in, see your date, and pick a different one. Just thinking out loud because I have no clue. You can also use one of the contact forms to ask for an earlier date, but seeing what was open and changing yourself would be a bonus. Something to experiment with when you get there.

I thought about trying to see if I could rebook my interview date, because I could actually have used a few extra days as I only get back from the US on Thursday. But decided I didn't want to risk screwing around with it in case I ended up worse off! But I can see that if you could do that it might be worth it.

I don't get the whole NVC vs Embassy thing I have to admit. It seems crazy to go through everything through the NVC when, as you say, London will double check it all again anyway. I guess maybe it speeds up the interviews slightly? As in, if a case as already been pre-screened by the NVC they are less likely to dig into details at the interview? But that seems unlikely. I imagine they treat them all the same.

POE went fine. I had an awful lot of hassle with fedex, bagage hub and over weight baggage with airlines. But immigration part was fine. My packages were damaged some of the things I was given when my nan passed away broke.. I have not heard anything from the company despite now emailing them twice. I also haven't been paid. We got married yesterday but will have a ceremony in October :)

Congrats Prenouveau!!! That is great to hear!!!

AMJZ I am so sorry to hear about your broken items :crying: Have you tried calling fed ex as well? I had something similar happen in the past and even though their emails usually state they will get back to you within 48 hours they never seem to so I just called and escalated (politely) until I got to someone who could help.

My POE will be ATL on Saturday 23rd. Booked a ticket via Turkey for extra excitement (and no doubt extra security checks, TK is pretty insane with it these days). One-way ticket with 3 32kg checked bags. I expect SSSS on my boarding pass :)

I heard back from them this morning. They didn't tell me I had to take out an additional insurance so they won't be doing anything. The only thing I am really upset about is this one ornament which I think if we glue it'll be ok. Everything else I'll just deal with. It's just stuff after all.

Sorry about the damaged luggages . Congratulations on the nuptials

For those who've gone through POE, did you have to fill out anything at the airport in the UK, or indicate to the airline that you would be entering on K1? When we booked my fiance's flight we weren't prompted to provide any info., and obviously we aren't doing VWP this time.

2 things:

-How did you meet? If you met online and you checked "no" to the IMB question, some additional proof that the site you met on is NOT an IMB is a good idea.

-For the passport stamps, I read after having sent mine that you should also include the bio page for each passport. I did not, and I got approved, but might as well just to be safe.

Otherwise looks good to me :)

NOA2!!!!!!! Finally!!!!!!!

Yay for you! Bet you are relieved. Won't take long now, I promise. Get all that paperwork ready for the NVC, and you'll be moving along nicely!

I have my medical tomorrow! Getting a little nervous/stressed. I don't have any issues, but just hate this kind of thing. Any advice from anyone who's done their medical in London?
