Affidavit of Support

my question is about the affidavit of support for adjustment of status. My husband put 44,000 as his annual income, with 4 household members and still We received an RFE telling us that We did not meet the 120 above poverty guideline. We are wondering what could be the problem with $44,000??? Please help me understand and what do we need to do?

You need 125% of the poverty guidelines for a household of four, so if you search for the I-864p form on the USCIS website this states that for a household of four 125% is just under $30,00 http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/files/form/i-864p.pdf so I can't see why $44,000 was rejected. Did you include evidence of this income such as an employer letter, pay stubs, tax return....?

Yes that is odd, unless he has several other dependants (minor kids living with an ex wife?).

Other potential causes are if he is self-employed and took too many deductions, or if the job is very new.
