My fiancé has just has his medical and admitted to very infrequently trying canibus in his life. The doctor didn't press him with many questions but he had to take a urine test....which he knows will come back fine.

We are reading so many conflicting things about bans and being passed through if the medical comes back clean.

We are just wondering if questions are asked about it in the interview if the medical comes back clean.

I can just share my fiancees experience. She was NOT asked any medical question whatsoever at interview. Her medical was clean and simply checked off as completed and submitted and clean. No questions asked. HOWEVER, if I remember correctly, on the DS-160 you have to answer if you have ever been a drug abuser or addict. That is where you will need to provide certain information around that, which then the embassy might bring up at interview.

When was the last time he tried it? When was the medical? When is the interview?

He last tried it at 29. He's now 33. The medical was Wednesday. Haven't heard back when the interview is yet.

Thank you. On the DS 160 he checked no because he's never been an aditc or has abused drugs. But when asked in the interview he was just simply honest about having tried it (only a puff) I frequently when he was younger.

Not an issue anymore since it's been a long time already. Any questions related to it should be answered honestly just as he did in the medical.

I seriously doubt that, assuming the medical comes back clean, this will be an issue assuming he is honest if a questions comes up at interview. If the medical report shows clean then thats the evidence he is clean. You cannot argue against a clean medical report...

This is what we are hoping. Did your fiancé check yes on the ds160? And they still asked no questions about it in the interview??

Nope, cause she has never tried any form of drugs. Again, if medical is clean then thats evidence. DS-160 states addiction or abuse. Question is, what is THEIR definition of addiction and abuse? Below is the dictionary definition of addiction. Does he meet that criteria? Since DS-160 does not define addiction or abuse, you can only go by official definitions, then determine if fiancee meets those criteria, then apply such to DS-160 response. That way, you have in good faith, honestly, answered the question using a standard, official definition no one can argue against.

Addiction is a condition that results when a person ingests a substance (e.g., alcohol, cocaine, nicotine) or engages in an activity (e.g., gambling, sex, shopping) that can be pleasurable but the continued use/act of which becomes compulsive and interferes with ordinary life responsibilities, such as work

Nope, he definitely doesn't have an addiction or abuse problem. In no way shape or form.
