Just came back from Best Buy, where I got the best deal on a retractable mini mouse ($7.99) woooooohooooo, can't beat that. My left one was $29.99.But anyway...

Checking out the software, and noticed Windows now has a new op system. It ranges from $150 to $250...The upgrade, the student/home edition and the profi...

Wondering if anyone is in the know if this worth buying right now... or could wait with it?

I hear that it is better but the biggest problem is that you need a very high end computer to get all the features out of it.

I wouldn't touch it until they've ironed out the kinks. There have already been a number of security issues...

I'm also a little suspicious of the new Digital Rights Management functionality - which could seriously limit what you can do with your media (music files etc).

I'd hold off, personally. As it's been said, the DRM issue is a big one.

I will not buy MS Vista for at least 2-3 years.

Does anyone recall Service pack I and II, among other critical upgrades to the XP operating system?

Vista will be equally, if not more vulnerable to problems.

Even when I upgrade computers, I will stick with XP until I have some confidence in MS Vista.

If the DRM thing can't be turned off I'll probably make the switch to Mac - although they probably have something similar in place.
