My fiance, who is a Haitian citizen, is currently living in the Dominican Republic. He has been living and working there for the past 4 years. He is there legally with a passport and visa. I am aware that relations between Haitians and Dominicans are not great. Would it be better for us to go through the US Embassy in Haiti or the Dominican Republic. Where would he be given a less of harder time?

Not sure that he would be given a harder time simply because he resides in the country legally right now and will interview there. If you want to interview in Haiti instead though, then list the Haitian consulate and Haitian address on the I-129F petition, and he will need to travel back to Haiti for the medical and interview processes.

Remember that he will be interview by americans at the embassy.

So i dont see any problem if ge is interviewed at Santo Domingo.

All he needs is be legally at Santo Domingo, you say that he is living here legally so i dont see any problem.

He can has problem if he is ilegally.

Problems between haitians and dominicans dont have nothing to see with immigrations process. :)

Bear in mind that if the beneficiary is to be interviewed in Santo Domingo, your presence as the petitioner will be mandatory.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I went to my interview k1 alone on march 18, my fiance couldnt come and he sent a letter and all was ok.

I am in ap for a diferent thing of that.

And a friend of mine went alone too, his interview was on november 2014 and he was approved.

All we need is show that the relationship is real.

In both cases fiances are pure america, i mean no latin, when fiance are latin they have more suspicious of fraud.

Ok, thank you for the clarification. Well I'm Latina...so we'll see :-) I wont be filing until Mid to late May, trying to get as much info as I can.

My fiance Is Haitian and was living in DR on a student visa so I file it in Dominican republic cause that's where he resides, so don't bother go to Haiti they'll ask why didn't u file in DR instead. It'll get complicated trust me

Hi everyone,

So I'm finding out that the visa my fiance has is a visitor visa...will that make a difference if he would have to go through Haiti or the DR?

The american rules are that you need be legal resident in the foreing country where you appky for the visa.

A visitor visa isnt a legal resident.

It is the same at usa a person with tourist visa isnt a legal resident.

If he cant get dominican resident, then he needs apply in Haiti.

My fiancé is from Haiti and he is living and working on a work visa in the Dominician Republic and, I applied with the embassy in Haiti because he is not a legal resident in the Dominican Republic.

SINCE THE BEGINNING OF 2015 THE CONSULATE IN HAITI STOPPED USING HAITI MESSENGER; THEY NOW USE DHL INTERNATIONAL THERE ARE (4) LOCATIONS: PORT-AU-PRINCE, CARREFOUR, PETION-VILLE, AND CAP-HAITIEN. THE ADDRESS AND HOURS OF OPERATION ARE LOCATED IN MY PROFILE ABOUT ME.

  •  We stayed 6 days at the Kemael Hotel Tabarre 58, Rue C. Sylvain #4 Tabarre Haiti $80.00USD per night. It is off Boulevard 15 Octobre
  •  Or you can stay at the Le Monte Cristo Hotel & Suites Tabarre 60, Boulevard 15 Octobre, Tabarre Haiti $90.00USD per night.

  • As of October 4, 2016 Still waiting for RFE hardcopy to come in the mail, called USCIS on September 30, 2016 no help.
  • As of November 3, 2016 We received an email in regards to not receiving in the mail the Request for Evidence (RFE) , come to find out they really didn't need any additional information. So now the have to wait another 120 more days before we can get an interview or approval. This is some BS.
  • As of February 7, 2017, We received in the mail Interview Date for AOS on March 20, 2017

He needs an haitien adress, because there they are going to send him the informations.

You list the dominican adress in the question that ask the adress the last 5 years.
