Hi,

I am an IV applicant under the EB-1A category. I had my interview on Jan 12th and it went really smooth. I did enjoy it as always. Towards the end, the officer told me, with a smiling face, "this is perhaps not the first time for you, but I am sure the last time in your life", while handing me the 221g administrative processing instruction sheet.

This is not the first time, as I have applied four times before in two different categories and every time my application has gone through this extensive security check. I am not really worried about the outcome, but my real question is: all visa categories I applied before were of course non-immigrant and this is the only time it is IV. Every time before they have taken about three weeks to conclude on my case. Do they do it any faster for IV cases? I mean, is there any priority for the IV cases pending under 221g?

The letter used to say a minimum of 60 days before and this time it says two weeks. So I guess they take care of IV cases a bit faster. Any experience? Has anyone gone through this very recently? What are the typical current processing times (I know it varies case-to-case; but some estimate doesn't hurt anyway)?

Thanks in advance,

It does not matter it is IV or NIV. I've been under AP for my immigration visa (EB1) since early December. This process took me 2 weeks for another NIV in last April and several months for another one. So it seems there is not a rule. Please keep posted your status.

I will Emily2020. Yeah, even with me it has always been about a month or more. I had gone through this four times before, thrice on J-1 and once on B visa.

Wish you See yourself soon on the other side of the process :). Do keep me posted of your status too.
