So, I'm currently on sabbatical, having left one job to take a year off - which is when I got engaged to my gf over in France.

I am guessing that when the time comes to file the I-134, I'll need to be back at work with an employer that can vouch for my income.

Timing-wise, when in the K1 process will I need to have the job secured? I don't want to file too soon and be asked for proof of support before I have the job lined up.

For an example, let's say I filed in March. Would I need to have an active job at that point? Or not until June/July when the NOA2 occurs?

Any help would be appreciated. I looked at the resources but didn't find this exact answer...

There are lots of threads on this subject, but to answer your question you will have to show proof of income after your petition is approved at USCIS and is forward to NVC and Embassy. You will need to send info to your fiancé for her to bring to interview. As far as time wise you could look on here at the different times for others filing K-1 visa from your country. A fiancé visa is usually faster then a spousal visa and gets process rather quick, but unfortunately it looks like your will be sent to the Texas service center, which is a little behind compare to the California service center, but to give you an exact time is almost impossible. To get rough estimate you could check others timelines

Thank you, much appreciated.

Yes, I went through the timelines to guess at timing, just wasn't sure how close to the start I would need to show support info. Thanks again!
