Hello my fiancé and her child live in Uganda. They Have no physical address location and can't recieve mail? Does this make it impossible to marry her? I know almost all forms she's required to fill out ask for her address including the intention to marry letter she must write. Stressing big time!

The letter of intent does not need her address. Other forms do ask for it, but I would imagine you leave it blank and attach a supplemental page explaining the situation.

At the consular stage, I would imagine your fiancée's country has dealt with this issue in the past and taken steps to work around it. Check the consulate's website to see what the instructions are for when you get to that part of the process, and ask on the appropriate regional forum on this website.

This is actually quite typical around the world, just crazy for us to imagine. Put down whatever address she has, so if all she has is the neighborhood and city then that’s her address. My fiancee’s address is just that, the neighborhood and city without a number or street. The embassy/ consulate is most likely used to how their country does it, and my fiancée has to use DHL to send and receive documents. I’m sure they have something similar.

Thank you everyone for answering, does this mean throughout the process the government will be communicating to me and having my schedule her interview and all that since she will be unable to recieve the mail?

Hi my fiance also is from uganda and has a child too. Set her up with a P.O. box and they can send her mail there.

First we had to get them both passports which took like 2+ months and birth certificates. cost about $800k ugs

Then after she can use these for I.D. purposes as well. We set her up with a P.O.Box with posta uganda it cost $150k ugs and we had to wait like

3 months for the key they told her that when she receives a letter or package then they would give her the key. Crazy right lol. We haven't gotten

to far yet still waiting on NOA2 next week will be 5 months waiting at TSC... but i have been reading the threads and gleaned some information

here and there. From what I gather you need to have a single never married letter form the court i forget the name of th agency i could write it l

later when i find it again. She also needs a letter of custody for the child from the court. This is not listed anywhere but people were denied a visa

because of it, it implies international child kidnapping . These 2 letters are still in process 2 months and waiting and $200k ugs.

She will also need a police letter of good conduct from kololo. that was $150k ugs too They have to go

to kenya for the interview if you didn't already know this. be prepared and hopefully you filed K2 with the K1. You will be paying for both of them

$265usd each visa plus IOM medical which i figure will cost us and you possibly $600usd. Plus hotel room for 3 weeks i am looking at a place for

a home stay airbnb at the cost of $20usd a night to save money then food money like $300usd and the Bus to and from kenya not sure of the

cost yet. Be prepared Kenya is much more expensive then uganda. check the exchange rates on xe currency.

Approx $2000usd plus k1 app fee of $340usd and photocopying like $80usd plus one way plane tickets for 2 = $1800 usd on brussels

airlines then $1700 for AOS Adjustment of Status after she arrives and you marry. Start Saving and get your papers in order photos receipts.etc

Well best of luck and I hope i helped make this process a little bit easier, since i had to search and search to figure all this out and live it actually too lol. Ricciardo

realras, just entered the same suggestion I would have, find the closest Post office, and rent a box, with a number, and use that even if it is 20 miles away, at least you may have piece of mind.

Good Luck and God's speed!

My fiance is wondering if she can put her church address as her address for mail. The Bishop has granted her permission to do so as they receive mail there, but is she allowed to legally?

Yep! That should work out fine!
