the question are same online and in the booklet. I got booklet at my biometrics and it just gives history about questions. For ex it'll ask the question what does the constitution do? it has ans then it gives background info about that particular question. Just to be on safe side use USCIS official site for test materials...link for uscis site: http://www.uscis.gov/citizenship/learners/study-test

and also in the book for names of representatives and senators it says go to certain site. for ex for senator it says senate.gov... if u want i can post few sample pictures of the book if you'd like...

Is anyone here in the Manhattan, NY local office? We have been waiting for 3 weeks now since Biometrics, with no update. It looks like a few people also had to wait this long but the majority have been placed in line a few days after biometrics. Wondering what's going on.

I live in Manhattan. I went for Biometrics on 10 December 2014 and didn't receive my interview letter until 18 February 2015, interview was scheduled for 18 March 2015 (all went well ).

So a good 2 months passed between Biometrics and interview notice.

When i received my green card , The date of issue was wrong or i am not sure. I arrived in JFK on 04/21/2010 . My GC issue date is 02/22/2010. I dont know if it was a mistake.

When i got the green card, i did not check it until i noticed when i was applying for N-400.

I attached my I-94, My GC copy , and sent on right 90 day before my my 5 years.

I received the first notice of action, then my figure print letter.

My question is.

1-I dont know the date on the green card will cause any issues for me.

2- Does USCIS issue interview letter till i complete 5 years? or it doesn't matter.

Some people say they are not going to get me inline or issue me interview letter till i complete my 5 years term.

The date of arrival to the US has nothing to do with the date of your GC was approved. I would call USCIS and double check - just in case. Did you apply for a visa in your home country, I assume?

USCIS doesn't notify after you you reached 5th year, you need to take care of it yourself.

The rule is 90 days prior you reaching your 5th year from the issue date of your green card. In your case it's 02/22/2010. So November 22, 2014 was your eligibility date. You may apply now any time.

According to USCIS Nationalization Rules: You have to live in US for 4 years and 9 months. I go by my the day i arrived in United States. Which is my I-94 stamp dated 4/22/2010.

I completed my 4 tears 9 month on 1/22/2010.

If i would have applied Nov 22 2010 i would have denied at the interview.I am sure they would tell me you did not complete your residency requirement.

The GC is a mistake or its not a mistake they will figure it out and fix in their system.

I completed my residency, applied the right time. I am sure hopefully no issue. Figures crossed.

The rule is 90 days prior to the 5th anniversary if the RESIDENT SINCE date printed on your green card.

Olna is right that your date of or rival in the US is irrelevant. Olna, read the OP's post more closely, he already applied.

If there was a mistake on your greencard then you should have corrected it, but at this point, I think you should wait and see what happens at the interview. If there indeed was a mistake, you'll get denied and you can reapply, but I don't think there's a mistake. Your green card date is probably right and was backdated to when your permanent residency was approved - what visa did you come here on?

Regarding the 5 year issue, the only rule is that you can take the oath before your 5 years are up. Some offices won't interview before then, but that's just office policy, not a USCIS rule or a law.

"On March 27, 2015, we scheduled an interview for your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization , Receipt Number NBC*************. We will mail you an interview notice."

I was reading through on what to bring for interview and I noticed it said to bring other passport (s). Does this mean I have to surrender my British passport? Im not sure I want to do that....

Hi. They request to check out your passports to confirm the dates you have been outside the US and determine if you maintain the residency in the US. I'm kind of in the same boat; I'm a Spanish citizen. You will need to confirm with the British embassy if the UK requires its citizens to surrender their British passports when they become American citizens. Spain used to have that requirement. I hope this help.

You have to take any current or expired passports in your possession with you to the interview.

This is to verify your identity, legal name, and crosscheck your trips abroad. It's got nothing to do with surrendering your current nationality or passport.

When you become a citizen you'll have to renounce allegiance to all other countries, but you can keep your British citizenship.

Hey guys! My husband received his interview letter yesterday, and the interview is scheduled for April 29th. Only a month to go. Woo hoo! Can I ask for someone's help to update our info?
