I-130 and DS-260 - Can changes be made?

Good morning everyone,

I am in the process of filing out the DS-260 and I had a couple of questions and they are related to the I-130.

1) In order to make the I-130 and DS-260 consistent, can I make changes to I-130 since it has been already submitted and approved? The change(s) are not major ones, basically it is changing it to the proper mailing address and adding one more employer.

2) Also, my other concern I have and what worried me was, that since I worked for the Government of Ontario, but at different ministries/departments, I only used the Government of Ontario as my main employer instead of the various ministries/departments. Working in a parliamentary system you moved around alot some for longer period times and others for shorter period of times.

3) Should I proceed with the DS-260 or wait until these errors or clarifications are made on the I-130?

I would be interested in some guidance. I would like to avoid being grilled in Montreal by the CO at the consulate.

No, you don't get to change I-130.

If you need to, bring an updated G325a and hand it over at the interview. Completed DS-260 with the most current information.

As long as the information on the i-130 and g-325a were correct when submitting them, then you do not need to worry about it. Any address updates, etc, are done on the ds-260. If the g-325a had errors then submit a new one at interview.

For instance, my husband works for the FAA but it's really the Department of Transportation. At that point they are almoat interchangeable.
