I just tracked the I-130 petition I sent in to the TSC yesterday and got the following message:

Label/Receipt Number: xxxxxx

Status: Notice Left

We attempted to deliver your item at 1:10 PM on February 1, 2007 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. It can be redelivered or picked up at the Post Office. If the item is unclaimed, it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later.

When I called the post office, they said that only the receiver can callt hem and ask for redelivery. If my package is unclaimed, they will send it back to me AFTER 15 DAYS!!

I am steaming mad right now!

Has anyone else had this problem before??

Thank you guys, I really appreciate it. After everything we have been through, the last thing I need is to have to rebuild this and send it again. Thank you, I do feel better...I will be checking that delivery confirmation daily!

And FYI for other people reading this post, you can waive the signature requirement - you still get confirmation that it was delivered if you feel okay about not getting a name. That's what I did anyway.

brian and gemma,

she did not receive a NOA from the USCIS, instead she received delivery confirmation from the post office,

It's not that unusual to wait a few weeks for a NOA1 - do you have a cancelled check? If so, you should be able to get the case number off of the back of the check.

You are dealing with the U.S. Postal System (which I know a little about!).

I am assuming that you shipped via Express Mail.

Express Mail must be scanned at each point in the delivery process.

If it arrived on a weekend, for example, it would be scanned as "notified".

The USCIS (or other US Gov't agency) sends a clerk to the Post Office to pick up the mail on a daily basis M-F.

The USCIS address for such shipments is a Post Office Box (probably a large hamper on wheels).

Only shipments through the Postal System can be delivered to P.O. Boxes

-- NO FedEx, LBC, UPS, etc. - those would have to be sent to the "physical address".

I have had very good success with EMS - Worldwide Postal Courier Network.

Once it is being loaded on the plane at Manila Airport (NAIA) it begins the "scanning" process

and can be tracked "online" until delivered.
