Hello all!

I finally sent out a K1 visa for my fiancee and got first notice! Since I do not meet income requirement to be a sole sponsor, my mother will be a joint sponsor. My question is: do I have to bring IRS tax return copy for the past several years, or will w2 form copy will cut it? Or everything together?

Thank you for your help!

07/07/2015 - Sent AOS for K1 visa (I-485, I-131, I-764)
07/16/2015 - Received confirmation (I-485 receipt was not sent to the MAILING ADDRESS!)
08/05/2015 - Biometrics appointment
08/06/2015 - Received RFE for Initial Evidence for I-485 (need for pay stubs + tax return + letter of employment)
08/18/2015 - National Benefit Center received Response to RFE (Status updated to RFE received)
08/23/2015 - Address change
09/08/2015 - Received letters confirming address change for I-485 and I-131

09/25/2015 - Online status of I-131 and I-765 changed to "Case Approved." Received combo card.

11/14/2015 - I-485: Card in Production!!! Case Approved!

6. EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: Any evidence from your American spouse/fiancé(e) which will show the consular officer that you and members of your family who will accompany you will not become public charges while in the United States. Documentation regarding financial support can be in any form – preferably one year of tax returns, W-2s, bank statements, earning statements, letters from employers. PRESENTING ONLY THE AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT I-134 FORM IS NOT SUFFICIENT. The I-864 form is not required for a fiancé(e) visa.

Thank you!

You need to read the instructions given by the embassy or consulate where you will be interviewed.

It will differ from consulate to consulate?

Log in to the IRS website and download the "Tax Transcript"

That's all i did. I got the transcripts for the past two years.

That would be better than making 100+ pages of tax return copies.

Sometimes it does, yes. The best thing you can do in this situation is follow the specific instructions of YOUR consulate. Someone already posted a link to that information.

Exactly, its better than bringing lots of random papers.

Everyone I asked said that the consulate prefers IRS Tax Transcripts so i decided to do that. I printed them for two year. They have all of the info even who did your taxes for you. That is what we submitted to the embassy and we got approved so....

So when it is a joint sponsorship, does the petitioner (fiance) still fill out an I-134 or is it only required from one source? or is there something special you have to do in case of a joint sponsorship?

I've read that both have to fill up I-134 as well as later one, when you marry
