Clearing the check soon but currently 10$ short

I just got back from the bank to issue an international bank transfer. According to the lady who filled the form for me the money could be at his account on Tuesday. I hope like crazy they haven't rejected our K1-package yet and try to clear the check again next week.

I read that if the initial check clearance didn't work USCIS tries it again 14 days later to give you enough time to adjust your finances. I don't know if that's true but maybe nothing is lost yet.

It probably would have been faster (and safer, as well cheaper) if your (USC) fiance had "arranged" for some money

to put into his account, but at least it is going to BE there. Yes, USCIS won't try that three days in a row, I assume they

will retry in one or two weeks. That delays your procedure, but its better than having it rejected!

Please keep us informed on when they retry, so that info can be saved by the moderators.

A short delay is much better then if they'd return our forms. If my money arrives on Tuesday USCIS is more than welcome to try it again the same day. I still hope to get the NOA1 for Christmas. Would be one hell of a Christmas gift for us.

Finally I got a small update on our issue. USCIS tried to clear the check twice on Monday, December 8th. Because of insufficient funds the bank charged my fiancé with 29$ - twice... So far my fiancé hasn't received our K1-package back and he tries to get a hold on USCIS tomorrow (Monday). The funds are available. They just need to attempt a check clearance one more time. We don't know if the check has bounced for good, or if our package has been sent back already. I hope to get more and good news tomorrow.
