Hello! VJ friends, I am in USA now and my husband is in his native country. I heard that embassy will ask original document like original marriage certificate during interview? Or it is okey if he take copy of our marriage certificate?? I am asking this because I brought original marriage certificate with me and it is here in USA. Also, when I sent IV package to nvc, should I send original marriage certificate so he can have that during the time of interview? He will have everything to show during interview except original marriage certificate but he has copy. What documents does IV package include? I am so confuse please help! Thanks!

The NVC recently changed processes and now require photocopies of civil documents only. You will be requested to furnish the original documents at interview.

29/03/15: Hard copy of transfer received in mail:P

29/04/15 : NOA2 ( I-130 Approved) -

Thank you for your suggestion, marriage certificate is very important to me and I don't trust any carrier. The thing is I can't sent him through any means because of the address.

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

Me too all original s r with me but im going myself when my wife will be scheduled for interview taking the original docs myself

Either the NVC or he will need the original document. Since you already sent the IV package to the NVC I suggest sending it to your husband as per NVC instructions at this time.

I haven't send IV package yet and I can not send it to my husband home address because he does not have mailing address where I can sent my original certificate direct like in USA. So,I am thinking If I sent it to NVC, they will give him during the time of interview and he can have our original marriage certificate as a proof. I brought it with me because I read NVC collects original documents but they don't do anymore. Please help! :cry:
