I just have a quick question about USCIS field office where we are gonna get immigration interview. Are we able to choose the field office to do the interview or it has to be designated according to our county?

Typically they forward your case to the embassy/consulate of your country of residence, not necessarily your country of nationality. You can request to have it done in your home country, but others on here have reported that they still had to do it all through the country they live in.

USCIS just approves petitions, forwards them to NVC (part of Department of State) and they forward to your interviewing consulate abroad.

In other words USCIS has nothing to do with your interview as they're Department of Homeland Security. Filing the petition is only step 1. Interview takes place at the end of step 2.

Sorry if these are posting as separate posts. I'm doing this from my phone. Which is why I totally didn't see this was in the AOS group. My freaking bad!

My wife and I currently live in different US cities while we are doing the AOS. On question 22 for the I-130, I marked her city, hoping to get the interview where she lives (for various reasons that would have been more convenient for us)

But USCIS ignored it and our interview has been scheduled in the city I currently live in. I suspect you don't get a choice and the default location for the interview is simply the office closest to the address you, the person adjusting, provide on the I-485.

This is correct. USCIS schedules your interview at the field office having jurisdiction over the beneficiary's place of residence, which you can look up through this tool: https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO

Typically they forward your case to the embassy/consulate of your country of residence, not necessarily your country of nationality. You can request to have it done in your home country, but others on here have reported that they still had to do it all through the country they live in.

Can I suggest you read the question more carefully? This is in the adjustment of status section, and the OP is already in the USA. Your answers only make sense for someone applying for a visa, not someone applying for adjustment of status.
