Just had my interview scheduled for May 29th, which is going to be my birthday. My biometrics was on either boxing day or new years eve! Looks like they've got a bit of a strange sense of humour.

Hello MikeNZ1984.

I am just checking to see if you have any update since your last comment? We STILL have NOT heard anything from USCIS.

Thanks

I filed on the same day, also had an RFE, also done my fingerprints ...

I'm still waiting for my interview notice as well... there are a few of us in the same position. Then again, I've also got a friend who filed a few days earlier than me and got his green card a month ago!

We had our interview this morning, was scheduled at 8:15am, but it ended up being around 9:30am.

Nearly crashed the car on the way in, we were so stressed out (and still half asleep). Thankfully, disaster was averted.

We arrived nice and early, had our attorney with us, who briefed us before hand, went over all our paperwork etc.

Out immigration officer was a nice lady, who was ex military, she got us to swear and oath, went through our proof of relationship first, was very happy that we had provided a lot of proof of relationship, and that it was sorted out in proper order with lots of tabs and sticky notes, as well as photocopies AND originals of all the documents. She said we didn't need all the evidence we provided, chatted to us informally, listened to our story, flicked though some photos and then got out the piece of paper regarding our green card. My wife had been married to a foriegner before, who had started but never finished the green card process about 9 years ago, which wasn't a problem at all, we discussed this briefly and the reasons for abandoning it, cracked a few jokes etc. The entire process was very straightforward and not nearly as scary as I'd expected it to be.

I should receive my green card in a week or so, and have all the texts coming through now confirming production. Finally I can relax, I didn't realise how much stress I was under.

Our GC application was ajustment of status from an ESTA/Visa waiver entry, married within 90 days. The officer couldn't have cared less whether I'd come in on the ESTA and didn't mention it at all, all she was interested in was whether we had a legitimate relationship, and as long as I hadn't broken any laws we were all good.

This was San Diego btw. Based on this, if you have a legitimate marriage, you have absolutely nothing to worry about providing you have all your paperwork sorted, copies of joint bills, car registration, bank statements and photos (a lot of our photos were seperate, but in the same place as we don't do selfie sillyness).

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On May 29, 2015, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number XXXX, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
