Hello folks,

Quick question. My fiance got an email from the embassy to resubmit the medical and fill out form DS-260 and two photographs. My question is that we applied for a K1, shouldn't they have asked for DS-160 instead? Because when I go to DS-260 it asks me for an NVC invoice Id number and I do not have one. I have already contacted the IV unit and am waiting for their response as well. Any insight from anyone here?

P.S. Finally getting some movement on the case. Hopefully the AP nightmare shall be over soon.

They make mistakes all the time in their emails. Fill-out the proper form.

Thanks carolyn! That's exactly what I did. Sent an email to the embassy stating that they perhaps made an error. After all they probably have a standardized template and since K-1's are handled by the IV unit, they sent their's which states DS-260 versus DS-160.

After that (for shits and giggles), I called NVC, got the NVC invoice number for my case, went into DS-260, plugged all the relevant information and I received a message stating that since mine is a K-1 application, please fill DS-160. Just another bit of confirmation for the contentment of my heart.

The DS-160 has been filled. Medical appointment set, all the paperwork in order and should be sending it off as soon as the medical is done.

Congrats to everyone that has received their visa!!

So after 2.5 years of AP, my husband was finally issued his visa. We got AP after our interview and my husband was called after 15 months for a fresh medical and oath. He went to the embassy but was told some work remained on his AP and that the DC office was working on it. But they assured him that it would be completed in 6 months but of course that didn't happen. So after another 15 months, he was called again for fresh medical and oath. And finally approved :)

Good luck to everyone still waiting...just be patient and pray. Everything will work out at the end.

There is a place lawyers can email to in the State Department. I believe it's called legal.net. My lawyer emailed them all the time about my case.
