In my opinion you are very close to hearing from the embassy. Check your email and spam mail everyday. Also answer your mobile. Are all your documents and medical still active...not expired?

What carolyn said

You will be hearing something soon from the embassy, like they can ask you for fresh documents or maybe come in again for another interview.

I seriously think these long APs the embassy staff just forgets the file and it just sits there.

4 years completed in AP, today my case updated, my wife got reply of inquiry mail from US Embassy Islamabad...

can anyone tell me what is mean of this "administrative processing a normal part of the visa process"

4 years completed in plain AP and they still not sure that am I terrorist? a criminal? or my wedding is bonafide??

I have 3 years old american born baby girl and my marriage date is 2nd January 2009.

and here is another interesting part of the mail....

"(admin process) can be neither expedited nor waived. We are unable to predict the amount of time this will require.

who is that power full authority, whom nobody can ask a question of this delay and even not allow to ask for reasons??

am I really a ghost or super man ??? that worlds top agencies not able to confirm about my identity and my character details in 4 years???

--------------------------------------------

Dear Petitioner,

Mr. Khan’s case is still undergoing administrative processing, a normal part of the visa application process, that can be neither expedited nor waived. We are unable to predict the amount of time this will require.

Once the administrative processing is complete, we will contact Mr. Khan. We hope this information is helpful. Please let us know if we can provide any further assistance.

Sincerely,

i think you are stuck in security checks second get senator involved again and again every 2 or 3 months tell them send one inquiry to department of state and send another one to embassy Islamabad its may not move things or may start moving after few days but at least they will know embassy have to complete this case and you wont leave this case alone.

in our case my senator were very helpful to getting exact information and they are working with us for very long time now they had send many many inquiry to us embassy Islamabad but sometime they start working on case then stop again but its also all depends on us embassy to finish case, the last time embassy has response to my senator inquiry in May 2015 this email above may helpful for you.

Mrs. Hussain,

I submitted an inquiry to the Consulate to see if they would respond without the release authorization. The Consulate responded stated Mr. Hussain’s case is still undergoing administrative processing. Please understand Senate/Congressional offices cannot waive nor over-ride the administrative review since it involves security checks/national security matters.

The Consulate reassured our office they will contact Mr. Hussain as soon as the administrative processing is complete and they can proceed with the final phases of adjudicating his visa application.

Administrative processing is very much part of the normal process. You might feel frustrated, which is totally understandable, but these adjudicated rules were authorized by congress in the interest of national security of the United States. Yes you can question these rules to your congressman and/or senator. Congress can pass a law today telling CIS to implement timeline in processing visa applications, why don't they? While there are millions of people seeking to migrate to the United States, there are only enough resources to go around. Your file is one among millions that is being reviewed objectively.

4 years is not normal processing. The length of time spent in AP usually depends on what Country you come from which to me means the cases from Pakistan are not looked at objectively. I have been a member of visa journey sense 2009 when I got married and sent in our petition. The vast majority of people from other Countries got their visas years before my husband. It is rare for a person to go into an interview and be denied on the spot. They do background checks weather or not they plan to issue a visa. When a petition is sent back to them by USCIS and they have to give another interview they again make the couple go through a long AP.

Yes congress gave the Department of State all kinds of authority which doesn't mean that they don't abuse their power.

Hello Everyone,

After a long time I'm being seen here, I still see couple of my brothers their cases are pending such as Yarm24.

I keep my fingers crossed for everyone those who are still undergoing administrative processing.

I had been in the same situation and know how it feels being away for several years from Spouses / Parents.

I Wish everyone here a success on their Visa approval.

Jumma Mubarak
