Thanks for your patience. My fiancé are still trying to decide what is the best decision to make. If he returns to London end of January before his VWP expires and we file for a K1 finacé visa do I also at that time have to do an I-864 and prove I can financially support us? or is the I-864 done after marriage. All this is new to us and has me quite confused.

Thanks!

For the K1 visa, form I-134 is needed (for the Embassy stage, and not in the I-129F package) as an Affidavit of Support.

You don't have to worry about I-864 yet. I-864 is needed for AOS (Adjustment of Status), once your fiancé is a K1 visa holder and you two already got married in the U.S.

London allows you to self sponsor the I 134.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Self sponsor I 134? Does that mean my fiancé can self sponsor himself regarding the K1. Ty

Sure. But he needs about $40,000 in savings I would guess. You still need to address the I-864 after you marry which you said you can't do on your own for years. You still have a problem.

I do not know the current figure but it was a lot less than that.

I 864 is as you say another issue.
