Now I am getting paranoid about AP. Does anybody have a good idea on why peoples cases go into AP? In general? Common reasons?

We have all of our paperwork together, we are very well documented, financially secure, etc. and do not have any reason (that I am aware of) that would cause a flag. I hear Bogota is a pretty easy going Embassy.

As far as I know, AP usually applies to male filers from oil rich countries.

I am thinking that they tend to be more tough on areas of the world where the US is currently engaged from a military standpoint or other areas of conflict (not judging here). I mean she has a perfectly clean police record, I currently have, or have had, clearances with the Department of State and Homeland Security, so that should clear me. No financial problems. Married in the Catholic church, tons of documentation (phone records, chats, email, etc), 14 trips to Colombia in 2 years, clean taxes, make good money, tons of photos, etc. The only thing I worry about is that there is some age difference, but it is quite common in South America and Colombia. Much more so than here in the US where it is frowned upon heavily. But our relationship is over two years old and we have been married over a year. That is the only thing that is worrying us right now. I can't think of anything else, any other reason that might raise a flag.

It's getting close (next Thursday) and I am hoping for the best, but also planning for the worst (old habit).

VISA IN HAND!

2 business days after approval at the interview!

We had selected the $30 home delivery option with DX courier. The packet arrived just a few minutes shy of 11am UK time. Aside from the courier email yesterday, we never received any tracking information by SMS, phone, or email.

Tomorrow will be 14 months to the day that we mailed the I-130 petition.

Awesome. Nice to see something is fast in immigration.

I had an interview today, Nov 4, at the Kyiv embassy. Visa approved! They asked how we met, how long we have been dating before getting married, if I graduated with my PhD, and if I did my OPT. Everyone was nice. The only thing that got me worried was that the lady who collected my docs told me that my husband's tax return did not show enough income, so I might need a co-sponsor, but the person doing the interview never mentioned this again and just gave me the approval letter.

But our relationship is over two years old and we have been married over a year. That is the only thing that is worrying us right now.

So I had my London embassy interview this morning and I've been approved - yay!

BUT with all the excitement of it all I left with a big grin on my face and went outside to call my hubby. It was only when I was celebratory shopping on Bond St that I realised that I was never given this sealed packet thing that everyone talks about the I'm supposed to hand over at POE?! I was only given a disc with my chest xray on.

What do I do?!

You get that when you pick up your Visa. No worried. You did get all your originals back (people get excited and forget that too).

From what I can read? It seems that as long as it is not MENA and the man is older than the woman? That is seems to not be an issue. They tend to raise eyes when it is quick, the woman is much older, or their seems to be some lack of definite document-able history. Like I said, quite common in South America and Colombia as well. Just trying to look at all angles.

I am older then my husband by like 6 years and that doesn't worry me. Have you seen in TLC the 90 days fiance visa? Well there is a woman 41 with her bf that is 26 and they let him travel to the US to see how it went if they get married he stays.

So do not worry you will be fine.

Has anyone had any success scheduling their biometrics and medical appointment in the same day? Also, has anyone had success scheduling those appointments one day before the interview?

Congrats! 14 months!? Well, I just had my 13-month immi-versary!

Your attorney also made a boo-boo and that's why you got a checklist! I hope you got a refund.

This process should take 3 months at most!

Refund? I wish! The last time I heard from my attorney was on July 15th when we received the checklist email! She blamed NVC for misplacing our 2013 tax documents and said she didn't have time to help me and was going to be out of the office for a week. She stopped replying to my emails at that point and didn't answer my question about how to put the checklist response package together.

She is still the attorney of record on the case. When NVC sent the case complete and then the Interview Letter emails, they were sent to her and CC-ed to me and my wife. She never contacted us at that point either. Not that we wanted her "help" anymore, but it's still odd for her to clearly break her contractual agreement.

We thought about dumping her at the NVC stage because I had found out by then that she had given me poor advice regarding filing DCF in London. We decided not to rock the boat and take advantage of skipping the IV fee step. We gained about 30 days on the IV fee step but we lost 60 days on the checklist...

The awkward thing is we have friends in common. It's not impossible that I will run into her at a party or a BBQ at some point...

So i just received this letter from NVC, so i guess they still haven't scheduled my interview yet..=/

Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

This is just your case complete email . So you had case complete probably a week ago. Have you called to see if your embassy started scheduling?

I called just last week on thursday and i was told they haven't scheduled my interview date yet.. let me try and call them now. Wish me luck!
