I am really frustrated with filling out the I-864. I have followed the directions exactly as requested and they have sent notice back saying there were errors twice, causing us to wait 60 days each time. First time I did agree, there was a small error but the second time there really were no errors. I checked and double checked the information and it was correct. I have called and asked for someone to explain why it is wrong and the help line folks said:"all we have access to is the notice that my information was incorrect, we cannot help beyond that". They could not tell me why or walk through my paperwork to explain exactly why it was refused. They said because it was a legal document they couldn't help me beyond telling me there were errors... seriously??? So they can keep saying the info is wrong and send me notice but they can't connect me to anyone that can explain why the information was incorrect?

Ok, done venting, thx for reading. What I need now is some options. I would hire an immigration lawyer to look over my paperwork if I knew of one that was legit and reasonable (I am in Colorado US). Not looking for any services beyond a simple read and correction if needed before I send the forms in for the third time.

Thx ahead of time for any help or options you may suggest.

Blessings,

Ward

I made an error the first time and got a checklist. The second time I spoke with 3-4 clerks and they all helped me fill out the forms. Call a few clerks to make sure the info is correct.

Before sending another package call NVC and speak to a supervisor. They have more authority and knowledge. Many clerks I spoke to have given me erroneous information. So your package maybe alright. Just check with a supervisor first.

What type of visa are you going for? The I-864 should be sent to the NVC in Visa cases not the USCIS, who would only deal with this form for adjustment of status cases.
