My daughter passport expires March 2015 however I am travelling with her New York in the first week of December, my question is .....Does her passport have to be valid for 6 prior to travelling ??????

for canadians, I believe your passport should be valid for the duration of the trip; however, that is always up to the discretion of the port of entry officer. just get another one.

thanks !!!!!!!! I just read though the website, it only has to be valid for the duration of the trip which is a very short one ......only 4 days.
