Hey everyone just wondering if any new filers sent their petitions out for peru in the last 4 to 5 months. I know there is a post already for peru but thought id start a updated one. We sent ours August and received our Noa1 August 22, The clock is slowly ticking and its so hard to wait, From the sounds of everyone else it's just luck of the draw but honestly i would be happy just to be at the 5 month marker after seeing some couples well over the 5 month and still waiting :(

Anyways feel free to post something peruvian or not good luck to everyone

I am not a new filer, but I looked at some of the people who got approved from Peru and the time frame is about 5 to 6 months or so for the K1 at TSC. Sadly it is slower than approvals at CSC that are much faster. I have seen people been approved in as little as 13 days, but don't get discourage, you will be fine. I am praying for you that you will get the approval in less than 5 months :-)

I understand how you may feel, I went through that with my wife and daughter, it is a killer to have to wait, but try to see if you can visit your fiance... Don't worry too much, it has only been 2 months and time flies very quickly, you will see an approval soon. The good thing is that once you get approved at USCIS from the time you get your NOA2 to the interview date at the embassy can be as quick as two months :-)

You will be fine, you'll see :-) If you see that time passes and it is reaching the 5 months mark you could always get involved your senator, some people do, but most likely they will not be able to talk on your behalf until the regular time frame for the TSC has passed.

Good luck to you and wishing you the best :-) :-)

Congratulations on finishing everything and thank you infinity for the boost in confidence for our visa, definitely helps more then you know. We are trying so hard to make a trip but with my work i have only so many vacation days and were just saving it all for the interview so i can be there during it, regardless if i am allowed in or not she will feel better knowing I am only a few steps away. I have her copy of everything along with my copy of everything and some more receipts from the expensive larcomar lol, still cant believe how much everything costs in Miraflores but its beautiful.

I will keep :clock: and again thank you for the reply even after you guys have finished everything and still help others on here that's awesome!

*** Thread moved from K-1 Process forum to the K-1 Case Progress subforum. ***

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Congratulations on finishing everything and thank you infinity for the boost in confidence for our visa, definitely helps more then you know. Thank you and you are welcome!!! I am glad VJ exist as it is a great community where we can all help each other.

My wife, daughter and I are very happy to be together now and we are currently working on getting their adjustment AOS package together which we will submit before the end of this month :-)

Yeah, if visiting your fiance now is not an option I really understand it. It is a great idea that you are saving your money right now to be with her at the interview. I know how expensive can be to be in Lima even just for a few days, Larcomar lol yeah everything is expensive in Miraflores.

As for the interview day, once you get to that point in this process, I can tell you by my own experience that you should not have any issues trying to accompany her during her interview. I was actually encouraged to read here on VJ that others went to their fiance's or spouse's interviews and I decided to do the same for my wife and daughter's interview. My wife felt much better with me being there and to tell you the truth the interview was very smooth. I was even asked a couple of simple questions during her interview, routine questions :-). People at the consulate are very polite. I brought my wife on a K3 and daughter on K4 visas and if you are interested you could read my review and others reviews here: http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/index.php?cnty=Peru

Also try to familiarized yourself with the rest of the process. You will get your NOA2 from USCIS, it will be sent out to NVC (obtain your case number), and then your case will get routed to the US embassy in Lima for further processing. I think you will be less stress if you read ahead unless you have already done so :-) lol When I got my NOA2 things moved very quickly after that and I was glad I read ahead to help my wife and daughter prepare for the interview. When I mean prepare I meant getting the documents we needed for their interview, filing the DS-160 online, get the medical exams, obtain police records (in Lima are 3 records needed), getting my tax W2 documents, and any supporting documents we needed for the interview as stated on the instruction sheet.

Here is the link for the US embassy in Lima VJ information: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Peru&cty=Lima

Good luck to you and your fiance and if you need anything just ask away :-)

Jorge
