Hi all,

New VisaJourney member here from Houston, TX.

A little background... I married my husband back in 2009 while he was on an H1 visa. As a U.S. citizen myself, I filed his initial paperwork in 2010 and he got his green card in Nov 2010. I helped him file his N-400 in November of 2014. Because I had had to compile and send a giant packet of information as part of RFE for 485, I figured that we will send only the required documentation such as copy of marriage license, tax transcripts, newborn daughter's birth certificate, etc, and not duplicate the stuff that we already sent for RFE. And if they need anything extra, well, they can just send another RFE.

Anyway, so filed N-400 in November 2014, finger prints I believe early January, yellow letter asking for copy of DL at interview end of January. That's it. It is now June and our case has not been updated online since Nov 20 where it shows the application was received. That in itself would not have worried me as much until I found out from my husband's relative who lives in NY and also filed around the same time (late November) to the same Dallas lockbox that he has already taken his oath ceremony in early April!!! That made me frantic to find out what the processing dates were and I found visa journey. I've been looking at the timelines posted by the members in this thread as well as members in Dec/Jan/Feb threads and MOST members have already had interview and approval and are waiting on oath... The processing times on the USCIS website for Houston Field office have not been updated since March and show currently processing June applications.

Any guidance on what I should do next or if I should just play the wait and see game? Any Houston filers, threads, etc that you can point me towards?

My husband works long hours with back to back meetings with clients so I will have to be the one making any phone calls. Will USCIS provide me with any information? I've tried submitting a case inquiry through the case status website (case outside of processing times) but it never goes any further than "your case is within normal processing times"...

Any help or words of wisdom and experience would be sincerely appreciated!!!! Also, if you can add me to your master list of N-400 filers, that'd be great. I tried adding but had various issues with the fonts so gave up.

Five months since biometrics is a longer than normal wait. Your husbands application is behind schedule but not outrageously so for Houston. I would start with an Infopass appointment. He'll have to go himself... you said he's busy but he'll have to make time, possibly more than once. You can try calling but that may or may not be useful. I don't know if they'll talk to you about his case; I would guess not, but that's just a guess. Note that even at an Infopass he may just get the standard reply asking him to wait.

Well, good news!! Husband is in-line for interview as of Friday! Let's see when we get the actual interview notice. Thanks for your help JimmyHou. We were just about to request an infopass this weekend when we saw the update!

Congrats to all those who are scheduled for oath ceremony. Just wanted to update my post saying that husband got his interview letter as well! Only one business day after the change in status to inline. He is scheduled for end of July! So to any Houston folks who may happen to read this thread now /future, have a little patience and all will go well.

Finally had my oath ceremony today. Took 2.5 hours and was enjoyable to meet people from so many different countries. Very glad to be through with US immigration! Best of luck to all those still going through the process.

My licence was suspended at the Time of my interview without me knowing...so t'il now,a decision is not made...but everything just get fixed yesterday and my licence is straight now
