Advanced Parole - Medical situations

Hello all,

My wife just got her EAD and AP today in the mail. We are delighted, but also still very worried about using the AP and not being able to have her come back to the U.S. I understand that there is always a chance that she could be denied entry by a random officer, but I wonder what the probability of that would be depending on her reason to go back home for a little while. The reason is two things, her mother had a stroke a few months ago and is having periodical checkups on her brain and my wife would like to accompany her mother with exams. The second reason is that my wife actually just broke her foot two weeks ago and we are in a limbo situation with restricted medical coverage from the state and she is not able to get any coverage for any follow up visits and she would easily be able to get follow up visits at a much lower cost back home.

We plan on getting all of the medical documents possible showing her mother's situation and her foot situation to have with her when she would plan on coming back, but what other suggestions or comments do you all have for us? We are scared of her leaving before the green card arrives even though we have more than enough reasons for her to go back home for a while.

Thanks

Best,

Also, how long can/should you travel for on the AP? I see it is valid for a year, but what is the suggested travel time and what happens once you come back as a parolee? Does your situation change once you are a parolee instead of the original adjusting status? Are there limitations or new procedures?

There is no time limit. Obviously you nerd to be back for the next stage.

Technically you are paroled rather than admitted which is not as good but seems to cause few issues.
