.Is it all Embassy issuing contact sheet?

wife interview went well was given a contact sheet for no reason now on administrate processing for CR1 no respond what is going on how long is going to take. This is in Lagos embassy other US embassies don't do this wait and seek game to issue visa. Anyone with a good advice. Should I get my Congressman involve ?

It sounds like she was put under AP, meaning the consulate will investigate further. This is standard for some countries. It takes as long as it takes. Could be a few weeks, could be a year+... Dwheels may see your post and give more info as she is familiar with Lagos. Hang in there.

06/28/2013 Checklist response sent for corrected DS-230 (I had my husband sign extra's just in-case)

08/02/2013 NVC requested a supervisor review on the checklist item over 20 business day window

Yes this is a Lagos specific thing. Nothing your Senator or Congressman can do. It takes as long as it takes. I have seen it go from 4 weeks to 9 months. All you can do is wait. I have seen approvals after they finish their investigation. I have seen denials and petitions sent back.

Just be patient is all you can do.

From what I read it does happen in Ghana, but nowhere near as common as in Nigeria. I have read that in Nigeria they sometimes will send agents out to the neighborhood to question neighbors and visit homes of the beneficiary to see if in fact the marriage is legitimate. I have not heard of this at all from Accra Embassy.

Haven't heard anyone from Ghana reporting this. Only Lagos.

I believe they tell you to wait 60 days before you contact them. After 60 days then just send them an email Lagosiv@state.gov.

Why this is more of Nigeria thing? Any way forward to stop or appeal this to the State Dept?

Why Nigeria? Because the fraud is so high. The wife and kids being hided in the village. People saying they are someone they are not. It's very high that's why the extra scrutiny.

Or people who are applying for K1 (engaged) but they got married (traditional or formal) no matter married is married.

People bringing over their "child" but its not their child its a relative. All these things popping up in Nigerian needing a closer look.

If people say "everyone knows I am married to an America". They ay go around and ask. I know of someone no one knew he was married. But they reported women coming in and out of his flat all the time. Especially his child's mother. Yep denied.

What is their to appeal? There has been no decision rendered on your case yet. You have to wait it out. Pray for a short AP. But who knows how long.

Today makes it 6months of us been on Ap.Ap is becoming very common in lagos.I witness a couple of us been requested to feel the contact sheet on the day of my interview.Well the good news is that a field officer visited my family house over a month ago.So the best we can do is to wait and pray for a positive response from the consulate.
