Field office question

I filed my N 400 in Dallas office last week and thats where we always did biometrics in the past, since we live in TX. But since we will be in AR for a while, visiting family, can i request to do my biometrics in a field office in AR ?!?!

You can't request an appointment in another location, but you can do a walk in biometrics before your appointment in any location that will allow you an early walk in.

No, you need to do the biometrics at the office, which is assigned to you based on your residence address.

So after i receive the biometrics letter, i can do an early walk in and see if they let me do it?!?

If they do let me do it, how will this affect the interview and oath ceremony? Will they be held at the field office where i do my biometrics or go back to the one originally assigned in the letter?

I did my Biometrics in Salt Lake City Utah for my AOS and it was no problem at all! (my field Office is Louisville, KY)

I took my appointment letter (about two weeks before the Apointment to the salt lake field office and explained the situation why I was not able to take fingerprints in Louisville! It was no issue at all they stamped the letter and did the fingerprints immediately! It didn't delay my process ! Hope this helps (I do know though there is a few field offices that don't allow walk ins! But I would definitely try

My husband will travel on his workdays so he will bring the letter but i would like to spare our child from travelling up and down. Thats why i want to try it in that field office.

Just be prepared for them to tell you can't do it there. Unfortunately each Service Center is different and follows different protocols. I have never had trouble walking-in before my actual appointment at the service centers I was supposed to go to, but you do read here and there about cases where people were turned away.

Thank you! Well, if im in tge area, im willing to try because the worse thing it could happen is turn me back :-) but if im allowed, it will save some time travelling.

Does it affect the time of the processing? Some say it goes faster, others slower. ...i guess its just different experiences in different offices.

My original office is in Dallas and they are veeeery firm, almost rude.
