conflicting Packet 3 requirements ?? :( Montreal Consulate Canada

I'm so sorry if this has been covered so many times. I have tried searching through many many pages in the forum and it seems like I'm the only one who's confused about this. I hate that I over think things...

Anyway,
I found the Packet 3 instructions PDF for the K-1 Fiance for Montreal ( on a state.gov website, so, seems legit? http://photos.state.gov/libraries/canada/303578/montreal/Packet3-K1-MTL.pdf ) It says I only need the checklist (filled out & scanned), the confirmation page of my completed online DS-160 form and a photocopy of my passport biographic page.

Easy peasy, I've done it all.

HOWEVER, on another website. The one specifically for my consulate ... (http://tinyurl.com/84ecmjd) it says I need to have a few other forms completed. DS-230, DS-156, DS-156k ... But I thought I read somewhere that the DS-160 replaced those? And if so, why is it still listed on the consulates website?

So... do I do them? I'm not going to wait to get the packet 3 instructions in the mail since there seems to be no guarantee that will even arrive on time if at all...

Any help from those who've gone through the Montreal Consulate would be greatly appreciated. It would really suck to make that 7hr train ride and be denied because I'm an idiot. :(

06/09/2015 NOA2 for AP & EAD ^.^ (arrived in the mail on June 15th!!! finally!!!!)
06/17/2015 AP/EAD Combo card in hand!
06/22/2015 Notice of Potential Interview Waiver Case
09/27/2015 AOS  APPROVED
10/03/2015 Received Green Card in the mail!!!

06/30/2017 NOA / 1 year extension

Even though I am not the same country, I have heard on this website countless times that the ONLINE DS-160 replaces all of those forms.Also here is a website update for you...http://montreal.usconsulate.gov/visas/visas/visa_news/ds160-100813.html

When in doubt, use the search tool on the consulate website! I just searched "DS-160" and boom here it is.

Effective 08-Oct-2013, the DS-160 Nonimmigrant Visa Electronic Application will replace the DS-156 Electronic Visa Application form (EVAF), the DS-156K (Nonimmigrant Fiancé Visa Application), and the paper-based DS-230 Application for Immigrant Visa and Alien Registration (parts I and II) for processing K-1 and K-2 nonimmigrant visa (NIV) applications. At time of the interview applicants need to provide ONLY a copy of the confirmation page of the DS-160 submission. For additional info please visithttp://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/types/types_2994.html#6. "

So just do the 160!

And you just print out a confirmation page and bring that along to the interview with your appointment letter and passport.

DS-160 replaced all other forms last year. Follow the current instructions from your consulate.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thanks guys! =) I do want to follow the instructions of course I'm just confused because the consulate website says one thing, and the government website says another haha. I just don't want to spend weeks sitting around waiting for packet 3 when I can send the information out immediately. I might fill out the other forms for just-in-case, but I don't think I'm going to.
