Photographs posted on social networking Web site Facebook.com showed partygoers wearing Afro wigs and fake gold and silver teeth. One photo showed students "mocking how African-Americans do step shows" ... In another picture, a student is dressed as Aunt Jemima and carries a gun.

Americans - Sense of humour, big ask.

This I always find amusing, from the article: National Association for the Advancement of Colored People

Yet I am told calling somebody Colored is a big no no. So what is it, we can use it but you can not?

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I suspected it might be the case but a quick Google shows that the NAACP was established in 1939 when blacks were called 'colored' among other things.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Yeah, well, NCAA team names and mascots predate 1939 but there's always an outcry when a PC group decides that a name like the "St. John's Redmen" aren't politically correct.

They need to change their name if colored isn't the preferred term...bottom line. I don't care how long they've had it.

Depends on the person. My stepfather is black, and yes, he prefers that term. His parents refer to themselves as 'colored'. Way back to call someone 'black' was incredibly insulting as it was regarded as an insult in regards to skin tone, not a indication of race.

F##kin rednecks.

It seems to be "different story" when a white guy jokes on someone black yet is 110% okay when a white guy is the butt of a black comedians jokes..

It is only natural to mock a bunch of dead beats, irrespective of color or race. Hence your comment "Rednecks", which is actually a racist stereotype.

Over the past month I have had a number of friends visit from Australia and the UK. They did not stop laughing at how ghetto gangster kids actually think they are cool and that their dress sense is also cool.... I learned from a young age that if you can dish it out, be prepared to take it..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

They must be stuck in a time warp. I'd actually pay someone money to go to a group of black people and refer to them as "colored"...just for the entertainment purposes.

Hell, I suppose I'm a colored person. My skin is pale in color...technically, that's a color.
