Hi everyone,

I received my case and invoice numbers today and I went online to do the Choice of Agent/address and pay the AOS fee (I thought it was $88, according to the NVC process. I paid $120...).

So my question is, do I submit the NVC docs (birth certificates, marriage certificate, etc) together with the AOS docs, or do I have to submit AOS separate and then wait? I see some discussion on in the NVC process guide, but I'd like some more updated experiences.

Thanks!

Hi, I talked with someone at the NVC with this same question a couple of days ago.

After the AOS fee appears as paid, you can send in the AOS (financial) documents.

Then, after they approve your DS-261 (Choice of Agent), you can pay the IV fee. After the IV fee appears as paid, you can fill out the DS-260 form and then send out the Supporting documents.

However, you can also send in the AOS documents and the Supporting documents together. According to the NVC agent, the time frame is the same, no matter if you send them together or separate. The easiest way is to send them all together.

What does necessary administrative processing mean when your case is at NVC? Have not submitted any AOS or IV package yet.

They're doing background checks.

Thank you. Do you know how long that process is before they start processing my case?

No idea. It varies. Sorry I can't be more help.
